Sunset in Zia

4 reviews
Charming Zia in the southernmost slope, whose superb location makes it the perfect spot for viewing spectacular sunsets and gazing at the nearby islands of Kalymnos and Pserimos as well as the Turkish coast in the distance.

During the summer the settlement of Zia is bursting with activity from the countless visitors who come to taste local delicacies served in charming traditional taverns, to purchase unique local products and souvenirs and to stroll through the cobblestone alleyways all the way up to its crystal-clear fresh water springs, the most well-known of which is Kefalovrisi.

We were staying in the adults only hotel five minutes away which is part of the same group. The bar is on the 7th floor of the Panorama and is well worth a visit for a change of scenery. It is very well designed and modern with brilliant views of the nearby islands and Turkey in the distance. Get there before sunset and the red sky and then Turkey all lit up in the background is worth the visit alone. Staff were efficient and friendly and the drinks were good. We got a couple of Mojhito spritzers which were good sized and nicely presented and were 8euros each which i didnt think was too bad, similar prices to the harbourside of Kos town.

What an amazing experience being up there in the loft bar was! Looking down upon the complex from Floor 7, pools lit up in colour, views of Kos in the distance. Red decor obviously within, beautiful music playing, staff friendly, enjoyed our drinks, but wish it had been covered still under All Inclusive. Maybe one drink each could have been AI, then paid for thereafter. Beautiful experience though all the same.

The view from the Red Sky Bar is lovely but doesn’t quite match that of Xhia due to all the buildings in the foreground. Nice enough atmosphere and staff, nice soundtrack playing (though it would prove tedious if you were there for long. All in all worth a visit if you are staying nearby but not unmissable.
