This statue is just opposite the harbour and is well worth a look whilst visiting Kos. Nice statue of Hippocrates sitting with a family. Small park behind the statue where you can sit.

If you stroll in Kos town, there is near the harbour a little park with this nice monument in bronze with Hippocrates statue; around the monument some benchs for relax and find a memory to remember Hippocrates, the famous greek doctor, ground explorer of the medicine, throught right eatings habits, a proper diat, and a sensitive lifestyle to heal his patients, and trained his students;
Kos, the birthplace of Hippocrates will honour this famous healer by this nice monument, The father of medecine (in approx 460 BC) takes the centerplace, teaching students and friends. He developed the art of healing by using plants and local herbs and botanicals;
He was the first physician to reject supersticions., and organised the first hospitals in the world and namend it
"Asklepeion".

Found this purely by accident as there is no signage. There is also no info near it to tell you about Hippocrates or his life. (As there is near the Castle & Ancient Agora)
Yes, there is much Hippocrates information in other places around Kos but something by his statue seems like it would be appropriate to me?
Located in a pleasant little area, with benches, near a park, opposite the harbour area 🙂

We had to visit this landmark as Kos is the birthplace of Hippocrates. This is a beautiful statue which is easy to access from the harbour.

Tucked away in a small park just off the main road round the marina, don’t miss this statue of the father of medicine, Hippocrates.
To be honest, it’s a few minutes of visit, rather than something to spend a long time on, but easy to tick off during a wander around the harbour and ancient town.

Monday 28th September and we were out and about sightseeing and exploring Kos Town.
This bronze statue stands on a octagonal brick plinth . It is situated in a small park across the road from the harbour front.
It depicts Hippocrates surrounded by people, which could be his students, which includes a woman holding a child.
Hippocrates was born in Kos c460 BC. He was a physician and he is often referred to as the Father of Medicine. He was also the founder of the Hippocratic School of Medicine.
