Basilippo is a wonderful, family-owned small manufacturer of high-quality olive oil. We were given a private tour through the premises by Isaac, one of the owners: a walk through the olives grooves, a look at historic olive oil equipment in their little museum as well as peek at the modern processing facility. We learned so much about olive oil. Isaac is a funny guy, so 2h passed by quickly. Highly recommended!
To top everything off, we had small olive oil tasting where we got to learn everything about true extra virgin olive oil. (Some bread, ham and ice cream included.) Unbelievable how good freshly harvested olive oil smells and tastes. We were happy to buy some oil as presents in the gift shop.
Paid tours are available with prior registration. (see their website - they responded within 12h) Tours are in very good English.

Basilippo, Where Olive Oil is King
Located between Carmona and El Viso del Alcor, in the province of Seville this family owned Organic Hacienda shares with the visitors the knowledge of identifying a good olive oil.
We were lucky to meet the patriarch of Basilippo, Juan Antonio Morillo who that along with his apprentice Jesus Sutil, talk to the trees every morning. He believes that the fundamental basis of the olive oil quality is the care and understanding of each olive tree, 365 days per year, and cannot forget that the tree is the olive oil producer, we are only the ones who extract it.
Juan Antonio treated us to his wife's Ajo, a delicious garlic soup made with garlic, sour oranges, salted cod and Olive Oil, and to finish the degustation, Jesus brought chocolate and Oatmeal ice creams then proceeded to drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil on them (Orange flavor scented on Chocolate) and a new flavor profile occurred.
According to Juan Antonio a good olive oil is not determined by the color or the type of olive, it's the process what does.
He pointed to a small tree full of small olives and he called it Acebuche: the wild olive you see all around, that if processed right a good quality oil can be obtained.
Luckily, if you do not have the chance to visit Basilippo to buy their exquisite olive oils, they are available at the Fairway Markets in NY and CT.
Reservations to visit the farm and the olive oil degustation are strongly recommended. The store within the property offers a large array of products and gifts to bring back home.

Great visit to Basilippo. It was a bit of a trek from Sevilla but worth it. We learned a lot about the olive oil making process and really elevated our awareness for future shopping and tasting ideals back home. It was a 65euro Uber ride (5 person van) each way from Sevilla Cathedral.

We had some trip plans change last minute, so we gave them a call. This was amazing! Our guide William met us when we arrived and led us through the olive grove, on-site museum and processing plant. He described all there is to know about making olive oil and how they do it. The tasting was really good, even the orange infused oil with chocolate ice cream! We loved our time at Basilippo and highly recommend.

On our drive from Seville to Ronda, my wife and I had the opportunity to visit and tour this family owned Olive Oil Mill. As we approached the property, we saw the groves of olive trees. We then headed up to the property which included several buildings including the processing buildings, “classroom” and the retail shop. We first headed out to the olive grove where Isaac gave us a nice overview of the process of creating olive oil. His excitement about olives and olive oil was infectious and fascinating. We then headed over to the processing buildings where we donned our protective wear to enter the sanitized areas. Here Isaac explained in more detail how the olives are processed in the machines. We also learned about the levels of quality of olive oil—only extra virgin, cold first press from Spain for me!
We next entered a building where the packaging took place. We learned that Basilippo provides their olive oil in tins as well as glass bottles. The tins are perfect for those traveling by plane who are concerned about glass bottles breaking. However, they do ship their products as well.
The highlight of the visit was a taste testing that took place in a “classroom”. We first tasted the highest quality olive oil which was an amazing experience. It was as if I was tasting real olive oil for the first time. We next had a very unique experience of ice cream topped with infused olive oil. I did not know what to expect, but the orange and vanilla infused olive oil was an amazing topping for the ice cream.
The final stop was visiting the retail shop. Isaac’s overview and the taste testing meant that there was no need for convincing me to buy. The store offered a variety of the highest quality of olive oils a few of which I purchased and was eager to sample once I returned home.

Isaac was fantastic. He is able to explain the complete Olive Mill process from tree to bottling and his passion captivates you. The history museum was amazing taking us back in time to the original process of making Olive Oil. Lastly, was the tasting. I hope you get some Olive Oil covered ice cream, blew us away!!!

This was the highlight of our trip in the region. We had always wanted to know about olive oil production and Isaac is so passionate about his olive ol business that it was just pure pleasure. He explained to us the different sorts of olives, olive production, pressing, etc. We were able to taste different sorts of olive oils from his production (the one with aromatic orange is heaven). and to visit his hacienda. Isaac speaks English and some French and we truly felt at home. There were just us during the visit but he took time to make sure all our questions were answered and more. Do stop at the shop as you can find so many little gifts for friends and familiy that are really unique. it is a nice tour where you can bring children who will be interested. overall a 2-hour well worth it and an excellent value for money. We came back quite happy.

Sadly, we had to cancel our visit due to travel restrictions and the company failed to honour their cancellation policy...they initially confirmed that we would be entitled to a refund but I am yet to receive it! I have sent a number of friendly emails but they have now been ignoring us the past 2 months. Very dishonest!

As part of a tour group, we stopped by the Basilippo. Within the hour, I had learned so much about olive oil! It was an awesome experience. The tasting experience was wonderful, and I will be ordering some olive oil from their website soon.

We came without registering and were given a very friendly welcome by the general manager Juana Roldán. The tour through the olive grove is explained with very good information boards. This year's harvest had just begun. Afterwards we tasted three oils with explanations from Juana. We bought a few bottles that we had sent to Germany by post.

Hello, I am planning to go to Spain and wanted to visit the olive garden and get some fresh olive oil. So if anyone knows would you recommend someplace and their address? I will go to Cordoba and Granada as well.

How do we book? Can it be last minute? How does one get there?
Thanks.

Hello, you can book on-line using the link in our web (Visit us section), we're sorry but we can't use links here in TripAdvisor.
You can also send and e-mail or by phone +34 670 499 955
If it's in the last minute is more difficult to have a full guided visit, but you can make a free basic visit with a map and a final tasting, this option is always available.
You can drive here, we are close to CARMONA and near Sevilla, use the location link.
Thank you and we wish to you soon.
