The church has a pictursque setting, plus a graveyard for local families around its site. Very unusual, the yard circles the church. Inside, the altar is of very high quality to look at. Its enchanting. Its picture book and could not be done better - 800odd years ago!

This church is truly a picture book setting, go there on a Sunday and if you are lucky there is a wedding and you can see the local outfits.

Place is nice from distance, nice when you walk to the island and near to the small or to the main church and inside. You can admire slim Gothic architecture, peace, history from medieval to newer times. Part between the churchyard and the main coast and left part of the island are little too touristy with hotels, restaurants. Try to... More

Should you be in the lake Wörthersee region in Carinthia/Austria, take a minute to enjoy this very special religius place! Just sitting in this small but ececially beautiful church for a while may reenergize you! Not good for handicaped people, as there are quite some steps to climb...

We have been there many, many times and it still one of our all time favorite places. A place of tranquility, a place so quiet one thinks time has stood still. A place to worship as well. There is a small, older Chapel and the larger Wallfahrtskirche with it's beautiful altar. Visit the cemetery, it is beautiful and the setting... More

On the small peninsula, where the village proper Maria Wörth is situated, the main church, the Wallfahrtkirche, is situated on a low hill. Step up through a stone gate up some steps into the churchyard. The churchyard is interesting with "headstones" artistically made of wrought iron. The church itself, inside, is decorated, as most Catholic churches with a splendid altar,... More

Having visited the Pyramidenkogel and seen views of the church from the tower we decided to head down to Maria Wörth to check this out. Parking as you enter Maria Wörth in the designated spaces with a small fee we headed to the church. Lovely building in a great setting. We preferred to look at it from the outside and... More

This was a visit shortened as there was a wedding about to take place. The church itself is fine and the setting is excellent. The surrounding graveyard is very well tended. There is a small chapel separate from the church which should also be visited. The views are really good.
