Sheshnag is 12 km from Chandanwari....the views on the way will be awesome. This route is opened during the Amarnath yatra season. the first 3km from Chandanwari will be very tough as it is a steep climb. People who cant climb can take horse facility. this facility is available till Seshnag. After crossing first 3Km you will reach Pissu Top. From there another 9KM to Seshnag. This walk will be mostly flat but few ups and downs. But beware it will be a tiresome walk!!!but the final view of seshnag lake is definetly worth all this pain!!!

What a lovely road to drive through when you have a drizzling Lake flowing with you alongside. It is a good lake having so many places where one can sit and relax and enjoy with friends and family.

The Sheshnag river it's flowing from a cave of snow and the first time I saw it I was speechless. We spent around 2 hours here playing with water and walking on snow. But it is better to visit this place in May or June as the snow would be fresh then.

Well, I missed Sheshnag Lake, essentially why I am posting this review!

If you really want to visit the lake, make sure you go when the route to Amarnath Yatra is open. That way you can be sure that the route to Sheshnag Lake is open as well, and not blocked because of snow. Which was the case in our trip.

Sheshnag lake is about 12 kms from Chandanwari, on a higher altitude. You could trek up or rent a horse!

the place is too good. tracking is not tough yet could not give 5 stars, why? as in the name of religion and pilgrim, the treck is being spoiled mercilessly and lots of wastes and dir here and there. i dunno who does such pilgrims spoiling the nature in such a brutal way. heard its the best to do in June to avoid this crowd and dirts,,,,,, sad i made efforts but could not see the best of it.....

Beautiful Lake set in the mountains. We hired a guide, Mehraj, that works for Wildfun Adventure Tours and Travels.
It's a bit sad that there are so many garbage on some parts of the hike, but one would forget it as soon as you look up at the beautiful mountains and glaciers surrounding the lake. For the fishers, good to know that there are trouts in the deep blue waters of the lake.

This lake is an outcome of melted ice from the top glacier. On the way to Chandanwari, one can find many places with ice over the hilltops. Sheshnag lake is situated at a high altitude .It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and Lidder river outflows it. It falls on the route to Amarnath Yatra. One can set the camp around the lake easily.
