We enjoyed our visit, winding our way up the turret stairs and different levels. Several of the exhibits of not that much interest, being mainly in French and it was only late on we realised there were English guide sheets in each room! Some exhibits...More
The castle or chateau looms large over the village of Tournon. We went up to the terraces as part of a group for wine and canapés. Fantastic views over the village, river and countryside. Well worth a visit for the photo ops. The interior is...More
Interesting mix of local history and culture including water jousting and some amazing paddle steamer models. More modern art exhibitions make an interesting contrast. Great views across the town and river. Definitely worth a visit, but northbound traffic on D86 was very slow so I’d...More
Tournon sur Rhone is quite picturesque, having early medieval roots, twisty narrow streets, ancient stone buildings, an historical town center, and a location right on the banks of the Rhone River. There's even a castle set on a high point overlooking the town and the...More
I am not sure if this is a normal activity at this location or was prepared just for our group. It was a nice location for this type of activity in a large banquet room in the chateau. After the tasting we did go on...More
We were on a very early walk in Tournon and had the chance to walk around and in the Chateau. The stonework was amazing and the "Battering Ram Proof" door was fascinating. When we make our next trip back along the Rhone we will be...More

The views are amazing, if the actual castle itself is a little underwhelming on the inside. The imposing nature of the castle is a fantastic site itself. The views from the castle are worth the tour - and the price is not expensive. Definitely worth...More
An interesting old castle with references to the history of town. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, an "exhibition" of supposedly "artists" had COVERED permanent collections with their lamentable productions. I do not understand museum management to accept such stupidity and vanity.
