I do remember when cars were allowed to be driven in. A bridge that connects Tain and Tournon for ever.

Interesting and nice view. The attraction itself is a suspension bridge that crosses the Rhone connecting Tourney to Tain L'Hermatage. It appears to be pedestrian only and is a short walk. A remarkable engineering feat

Seguin was a contemporary of Eifel. In fact they worked together on bridges in Portugal. Eifel was into steel trusses and Seguin was into suspension bridges. This is his first big one.

A very old wooden suspension bridge, built in 1849, connecting both sides of Rhone river at Tournon. It's open only for passage of pedestrians and bicycles. Walking on this bridge and viewing the environment is really interesting and memorable.

If you're in the area this is a 'must do' as the walk across this historic bridge provides superb views up and down the river and at the two towns on either side.
