Fully preserved nice medieval town, surrounded by deep canyons from three sides and with hilltop fortress (today it is hotel) on forth side. Sunning views on wooden hills and ancient caves. Narrow streets, old buildings, steps, quiet lanes and passes. Felt yourself in centuries-old time,...More

Loved this quiet hill town where history and tradition still live. We walked among Etruscan trails during the day and ate homemade pasta at night. Sat at the bar with the locals and watched the sunset. Perfect Tuscany.

Not far from the more visited Pitigliano, this is another borgo in tuff on a valley. It has not yet received the tourist attention and it is as original as you can have in Maremma. There are beautiful street and alleys, a castle and many...More

Beautiful mediveal small town on a huge cliff. Narrow street, deep stairs and marvelous view from the upper part. Streets are very clean and buildings in a good shape. Very nice to walk around and enjoy cozy atmosphere.

Interesting to stroll through the ild fortified village. Much seems to be untouched for centuries. At the base of the city there are some house integrated in the tuff mountain faces. One of them hosts a tavern.

Loved this village! Tiny but so fun to explore and so many photo opps around every corner! There was an adorable, inexpensive olive wood shop at one end near the tiny piazza. It doesn't take long to stroll through this town, but it was wonderful...More

We spent a couple of nights here staying in the heart of the old village. The streets have a unique ancient ambience and we loved exploring their twists and turns by day and in the cool of the night. We always felt safe to wander...More

Another must see after Pitigliano, but a lot smaller Sorano, offers beautiful, narrow streets, which you can make in an hour or so. There is a town panorama spot just outside of the city, where you can leave your car and 5 minutes of walk...More
