Summer Season 2017 ( 29 April – 6 November 2017) Since 1959, Katrin cable car has brought a range of visitors to the summit. Enjoy a charming 15-minute drive to more than 1,400 m above sea level with spectacular views! Spa town Bad Ischl as the heart of the Salzkammergut with its "Darling", Mount Katrin, has been a place of recreation since the imperial period. While the city with its cultural diversity and the historic buildings and places leaves nothing to be desired, Bad Ischl's Darling provides a unique nature experience. The impressive mountain scenery and the almost infinite expanse have always brought people to marvel. 7 LAKES VIEW Enjoy fabulous views: to the south the magnificent Lake Hallstattsee, to the west the majestic Lake Wolfgangsee, and further beyond, perched higher up, Lake Fuschlsee. Lake Nussensee with its emerald color, the mystical Lake Schwarzensee and to north-east Lake Traunsee are also to see. At perfect weather conditions you can see the Bavarian Lake Tachingersee in the far distance. NUMEROUS PANORAMA ROUTES The network of the circular walk extends from lovely Feuer- and Rosenkogerl westwards to the imperial Katrin summit and further to the beautiful Elferkogel, followed by the romantic Hainzen and the mighty Rosskopf - always accompanied by the impressive mountain scenery of the Salzkammergut that will inspire you. Multi-generation Via Ferrata Apart from fun and action for those who want to be active, the promising fixed rope route (suitable for families) offers a fabulous view of the most beautiful lakes of the Salzkammergut region. As highlight, the ascent ends at the majestic cross on the summit of Mount Katrin.

It's a pretty ride to the top, where you can access several hiking trails. We did the 7 seas trail in about three hours. That included plenty of time to soak up the beauty from many benches scattered throughout the paths, as well as time...More

Nice views from the cable car, there is one restaurant upstairs, and you can also climb to the top of the mountain, which we did not do. Overall if you dont have enough time, going up for a beer is a good option

Thanks for your review. The price for their tickets is not understandable for me, as a return trip costs € 18,00 for seniors and € 12,50 - for children - therefore a total price of € 97.-. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding. If it was...More

From Katrin one can view three valleys that lead away from Bad Ischl. Plenty of trails are available. Decent restaurant next to upper landing. The rides up and down are spectacular.

You take the cable car up the mountain and then it needs an additional walk of about 30 minutes to get to the top. From there you enjoy a wonderful view over the city and Lake Wolfgang as well as several beautiful mountains.

The gondola provides a quick and easy way to the top of the Katrin where you can just relax in the restaurant and chairs or undertake a moderately strenuous 1-2 hour hike around the top. The walk requires some steep but safe climbing and/or some...More

Riding Katrin Seilbahn provides a nice overview of Bad Ischl valley. There is a hiking trail starting from the top station which goes around the mountain top and provides a series of scenic views.
