Great visit

Great visit with beautiful landscapes. The visit on the boat is nice. You see a lot of different birds and the mangrove with red water.

You can take as long as you want (to an extent). It is $1200 pesos for a boat. The boat seats eight people and the price doesn't change. It's better if you have a big group or team up with another few tourists to split the cost. We saw Egrets, Osprey, Common Blackhawk, Terns, Pelicans, American Woodstork, Herons, Cormorants, Magnificent... More

The tour cost $850 Mexican Pesos (Not cheap). Bus was ok but they keep switching the air con on & off. Air con on freezing, air con off boiling. The driver could not get it right. Travel time to destination was supposed to be 1 hour (but took over 2 hours & there was no traffic) Our tour guide was... More

There isn't much the tour guides can do about the fact that there are very few flamingos there this year, I suspect that has more to do with the climate, but they could be honest with you up front before shelling out 1200 pesos for a boat. After the flamingos, and yes, there were only 37, I counted, the mangroves... More

This was a huge disappointment! It said it was an hour and a half tour.... we didn't even get 60 minutes. There were very few flamingos when we went, mid-Nov. I have no idea if it was because of the water level or time or year, maybe both.... since despite spending over 700 pesos for this I guess there wasn't... More

Initially we went here to see the flamingos, but were much more impressed by the mangroves. It's like another world when the boat enters this dark place with trees all around...all you can do is gasp. The water is unbelievable too, the most orange colour I have ever seen. The scenery aline is just beautiful. When we visited, there weren't... More

Boats now cost MXN1,200 for the approximately 90 minute tour, for groups of up to six people. If you prefer to share a boat and its cost you MUST arrange that group before you pay for the boat for they write the number of passengers on the ticket and will not agree to change it. The tour itself is done... More

Arrive early and reserve a boat for your party. The guides are excellent, and seem genuinely concerned about the birds and their habitat. You will see more than flamingos; you may see other wading birds, crocodiles and assorted small mammals if you are lucky. Good day trip from Merida.

This is a very good experience, the local people are very nice, and they explain everything to you. The cost is $70 USD for 5 people and you get a boat ticket. They take you to see the Flamingos, some exotic birds and a natural water well. At this season there are around a thousand Flamingos, but in December they... More

As you arrive at the beach there are a number of guides who take it in turns to guide the groups. We found Pico!! Our guide Pico was brilliant. It is $200 per person if you have 8 people but he said we could go out with 6 and pay $220 each. Pico was very chatty and because this has... More
