Beautiful French town
Jan 2017
Agde is traditional France, with the mediterranean weather beating down 10 months of the year. The place has much to see with the beach, euro park, canal ways and everything in between. The busier cities are all but a short drive from this perfect base location

Lava rock is unusual
Sep 2016 • Friends
Built of lava this small cathedral is not as decadent inside as many catholic churches. The ante room chapel with the crypt is worth a look as well. The painting of the Pope in the pulpit makes it look like he's there from certain angles!

Volcanic peace
Aug 2016 • Family
Not your usual Cathedral type building, but lovely inside and was a lovely place to sit and reflect. Main church closed when private services taking place, otherwise open all day.

One of the few worthwhile places to visit in Agde
Aug 2016
A very interesting cathedral - quite unusual - and some fascinating architectural features. Look for the misalignment in the interior

Awesome roman cathedral
Sep 2016 • Couples
Fortified Roman Cathedral, built with black blocks of basalt coming from the old lava flows of the extinct volcano " The Peak Saint Loup ", the most southerly volcano of French Massif Central. All this gives a massive aspect to this building whic hcan be considered as unique.

Well Worth A Visit If You Are in Agde
Jun 2016 • Couples
This fortified cathedral stands on the banks of the River Herault and is a place for quiet contemplation on a hot day. The outside is built of grey/black basalt giving the building a rather somber look but venture inside and things by contrast are pleasantly different.

Not worth going out of your way for
Jun 2016 • Couples
This is a rather small and dour cathedral, without any outstanding features, but if you are in Adge you may as well have a look inside, if you can avoid the idiots with their flash photography.

well worth a call in on your tourist trail
Jun 2016 • Family
If you follow the dot trail from the tourist centre- you come across the cathedral- of quite an age with Agde being one of the oldest villages in France. After entering the first door you turn right to enter the cathedral, which while not as grand as some french churches - it is still impressive. Well worth a look.
