The Morrison Chapel is a house of worship found alongside the Old Protestant Cemetery, a World Heritage Attraction at Camoes Square on the Macau Peninsula. It is named after Protestant missionary and sinologist Robert Morrison who was an important Western figure in Macau and southern China history. The chapel was originally built around 1821 but the structure you see today dates from 1922.

The church remains an active Anglican church which holds regular Sunday service to this day and can be visited along with the cemetery from around 8.30am to 5.30pm daily. It is a small one hall building with white exterior and simple interior. Give it a quick look inside before exploring the cemetery grounds just behind the chapel.

Within the cemetery grounds you will find graves of early Protestant settlers in Macau dating back to the late 18th-century including Morrison as well as English artist George Chinnery.

You can find the simple Protestant Chapel (also referred to as the Morrison Chapel) at Camoes Square in Macau. This is the location of several World Heritage attractions including the Protestant Cemetery which is situated around the walled Protestant Chapel.

The chapel was built to serve the small population of protestants, mainly British and American that settled in early Macau, which was dominated by European colonists of the Catholic faith.

Here you find a small, single room house of worship with several rows of pews and and a modest alter. There exterior of the building is simple, white washed structure that most will glance right past as they make their way back to see the historic cemetery, which is the main reason for visiting here.

This is where you find the tomb for the famous artist, George Chinnery as well as Robert Morrison. You can comfortably visit the cemetery and take a look inside the chapel in 10 minutes before making your way to other World Heritage attractions and sightseeing endeavours in the area.

This is a Protestant Chapel found on the grounds of the World Heritage - Old Protestant Cemetery at Praca de Luis de Camoes. The church history dates back over 200 years, being the place for worship for the small Protestant community who has settled in colonial Macau.

The present chapel building was constructed in 1922. It is a single room structure with a solid white colour exterior. The interior is similarly subtle in decor. However, it is a nice place to rest and seek solitude in this area of Macau.

The Morrison Chapel is usually open when you enter the cemetery grounds. It is worth a quick for those who plan to spend time sightseeing around Praca de Luis de Camoes.
