This is a historic street in the St. Antonio Parish named after the Portuguese Revolution of 5th of October 1910. It is found north and northwest of the Macau World Heritage area around 5-6 minutes walk from the Ruins of St. Paul's.

This is a good place to get a feel for everyday life for Macanese residents. Here you find lots of small local eateries, a few bakeries, Chinese medicine shops and local retail and service providers.

The Hong Kung Temple is located along Rua Cinco de Outurbo. This is one of the more conveniently located temples worth visiting in Macau.

At night, you'll also find a neat street food market between the temple and Ave. de Almeida Ribeiro as well. Lots to see and taste here if you are looking for some good street food options.

It is a street full of heritage and culture. The name "Rua cinco de outurbo" which is the portugal national day. It is then translated into chinese "十月初五". This name dates back the history of the colonial period. You can find traditional chinese herbal shops, handmade noodle shops, handmade bakery, hardware shops, banks, supermarket, local coffee shops, and even michelin star local deli. It is relaxing strolling across this district where you can find peace in Macau. This inner street is located right across from Ponte 16 hotel. It is a good way to experience living like Macau locals. Enjoy! ^^

Rua Cinco de Outurbo (5th of October) is found in the St. Antonio Parish, veering off Rua des Lorchas not far past the Sofitel at Ponte 16 and curving around through the western side of the Macau peninsula. The street stems from Macau's colonial past and remembers the day Portugal became a Republic (5 October 1910).

This is one of the streets, where you can find traditional and local Macau shops and see daily life not easily found in and around the historic city centre of Macau, which has been basically taken over by tourism. This makes a visit to Rua Cinco de Outurbo potentially interesting for those who want to see an old and sort of unchanged side of Macau on the peninsula.

Rua Cinco de Outurbo (5th of October) is near the interior harbour, veering off of Rua des Lorchas (south) and reconnecting with Rua da Ribeira do Patane (north) a few hundred metres later.

Here you can find local eateries, tea shops and quite a few other commercial small businesses. It is a good spot to see everyday life and to try some cheap eats here in Macau.

This is neat little area to pass through if you are spending time on the peninsula and looking for other interesting places to visit in addition to the nearby Historic Centre of Macau.

Nanpingyaxu is an tea restaurant that opens in 1968. It is the oldest tea restaurant and it is the first restaurant that has air conditioners in Macau. It is located in Rua Cinco de Outubro, which was once a prosperous street in Macau. Now it is not as prosperous as it used to be, instead, it remains a strong flavor of local life.
When I first went there, what attracted me a lot was the decoration. Wooden tables and chairs, floral tiles, ceiling fans, it was old-style and Macaunism.
Waiters and waitresses were old people, they were experienced. When we ordered the food, they didn't write it down, they just listened and repeated it to the cook. When we paid for the meal, they didn't use the calculator, just made a quick calculation and told us the price.
As for the food, Nanpingyaxu is famous for its sandwich. I prefer cheese& ham& egg sandwich, egg is thick and tender, toast is not baked, it is very delicious.
The restaurant is located in an alley, so it is a little difficult for people to find it and for cars to get in. So visitors are supposed to walk to the restaurant with friends or family. The price is affordable.
