The Macau Museum of Communications (MOP10 per person) is a educational and family friendly attraction that is makes for a fun way to spend a couple hours, especially for those visiting Macau with families. Opening Hours 9.30am-5pm (Tuesdays to Sundays). The museum is closed on Mondays and national holidays.

This is a surprisingly enjoyable museum where you will find three floors of displays on historic communications, telecommunications and general electronics presented in a child-friendly and interactive way. You are issued a smart card as you enter the museum and use it to participate in various interactive activities and to activate certainly monitors, displays and programmes.

We most enjoyed the stamp assembly station and the flight simulator you can try on the 2nd floor. The newsroom camera was also enjoyable as were the many cable, phone and electromagnetism stations were very interesting and good fun, even for adults. Everything in the museum is modern and in good working condition.

They have bathroom, decent gift shop with stamps and other souvenirs and a small seating area with drink dispenser machines (no cafe).

Overall, we consider this a great museum for those who are visiting with families and looking for child-friendly place to spend time in Macau. It is also a very good option during bad weather days when visitors are seeking indoor attractions.

Note: Unfortunately, the location of this museum is very remote, being on the far side of the Reservoir on Estrada de D. Maria II, no.7, which is located outside the Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal. Further, there are no bus stops in the area so unless you know how to find this location, you'll want to take a taxi. Make sure to have the Macau tourism map. Find and circle the Communication Museum on the map and give it to your taxi driver. They will know how to get there.

The Museum of Communications makes for good family-friendly sightseeing for those with longer stays in Macau. Entry is MOP10 per adult and opening hours are 9.30-5pm daily.

Here you find three floors with probably 60-90 minutes worth of exhibits on the history of telecommunications in Macau as well as interactive displays, monitors and devises that can be enjoyed by children. The stamp assembly station and flight simulator are two particularly fun stops for the little ones.

Unfortunately, the Museum of Communication is quite isolated on Estrada de Dom Maria II. on the north side of the lake in front of the main Macau Ferry Terminal. There is no other sightseeing in that area, something worth considering for those visiting Macau with limited time.

The museum is about 15 minutes walk away from the ferry terminal and it's 10 MOP to pay in cash. The museum is on 2 level and explains the development of the communications in Macau (phones and mail). Many interactive displays, you may also take 2 pictures thanks to your entrance card and even print them (and download them for free from the internet site). Staff are here to help and explain. It was really interesting for us.

This museum is located a bit off the city center. It has display showing the history of macau postal service and telecommunication. It also has a large workshop space for young people who are interested in electricity and science. It is a good place to spend with little children. It is not as large as the science center, but it is full of interesting piece and bits.
