One of several convenient temples to see in Coloane Village
Feb 2020
There are several interesting temples to see in Coloane including Sam Seng (Kam Fa) Temple located along Ra dos Navegantes, behind the Lord Stow's cafe and espresso bar.

This is a tiny place with a single small chamber. It was originally built in 1865 and has Qing Dynasty characteristics, like many of the temples you will find around Macau. Several deities are worshipped here, including Kam Fa, Kun Iam and Va Kuon which are seen in the form of golden deities on a small shrine inside the temple.

You will also find an ancient bronze bell and leather drum inside as well as guardian lion statues and decorative joss stick cauldron just in front of Sam Seng Kong.

Given its small size, you can conveniently see this little temple in 2-3 minutes while walking along Rua dos Navegantes, enjoying the traditional stilt houses lining the harbour here.

Convenient temple to see wen visiting Coloane
Jan 2019 • Solo
Sam Seng Kong Temple (also called Kam Fa Temple) was built before 1865 along Rua dos Navegantes in Coloane in southern Macau. This is one of a handful of interesting temples that can be visited in the village.

Dedicated to the deities Kam Fa, Kun Iam and Va Kuon, here you'll find a small single hall temple of typical architecture. You'll find nice murals above the entrance and two Chinese lions guarding the front. Inside, you'll find shrine with golden deity figures, incense coils, joss sticks and items left by worshippers.

The temple is located just north of the main drop off point, around 2 minute walk behind the Lord Stow's Bakery. It is convenient to see when sightseeing in Coloane.

3 gods in the one temple
Nov 2018 • Couples
This is a small temple in Coloane housing 3 gods, Kam Fa (Lady of Golden Flowers), Kun Iam (Goddess of Mercy) and Lord Va Kuong. It was constructed in 1865 and is not far from Lord Stow's Bakery but hardly worth going to see.

Small but convenient temple to visit in Coloane
Feb 2017 • Couples
A small but convenient temple to visit in Coloane is the Sam Seng Kong Temple which is located just behind the Lord Stow's bakery and recently opened garden cafe in Coloane Village.

Here you will see a small structure typical of temples built during the Qing Dynasty. It is a single grey-brick hall, fronted with two lion figures. Inside, there is a small alter with deities, a table with offering and incense. There are a few wall decorations, door painting, and traditional ceiling beams.

Note: This is just 1 minute walk from the main roundabout, bus and taxi drop off point in Coloane. You can conveniently see and take pictures if you like in 3-5 minutes before moving onward to other intended sightseeing in the area.

Sam Seng Kung, also referred to as Kam Fa Temple, is one of the stops you can make on the Memorable Buildings of Coloane Heritage Walk in the small village of Coloane. It is located across from the historic stilts houses on Rua dos Negociantes, which leads to the Ponte Cais De Coloane.

Kam Fa Temple is a small single room temple built around 1865. The temple is dedicated to Kam Fa, Kun Im and Va Kuong is typical of many others built in the late Qing Dynasty period.
