Great place to read and study
May 2019 • Solo
This is a gem of a place for quiet and solitude.
Don't come between 4:00-5:30 as there is a bunch of school kids that come sometimes and it becomes a bit unruly.
Otherwise, come to read a newspaper (scmp is available) or bring a book and relax.
In the heat of summer, the air conditioning is perfect!

Neat little building in Coloane
Apr 2018 • Solo
The Coloane Library is an attractive but neat building to see when visiting Coloane Village. Built in 1910, this was a public school until the 1980s. Now it is a public library for local residents.

What makes the Coloane Library interesting to see is the simple European architecture, featuring six doric columns lining the front porch. You'll find the Coloane Library located along the Avenida de Cinco de Outubro and harbourside promenade just past the historic St. Francis Xavier Church.

Neat little European building on the Memorable Buildings of Coloane Walk
Feb 2015 • Couples
An interesting activity to enjoy in Coloane is the Memorable Buildings of Coloane Heritage Walk, which features 9 different historic attractions including Coloane Library.

The building was originally a public school built in the early 20th century but is presently a public library, one of several around the city setup for local residents for leisure and educational purposes. While not that interesting to see from the inside, the simple European facade of the Coloane Library is worth seeing when passing by.

There is a Macao Street Walks marker next to the Coloane Library now with a bit of information regarding its history. This is worth a quick read if you are interested in learning a bit about the history of this interesting building in Coloane village. Just stop here for a couple minutes and move on.

Coloane Library: Quick stop when visiting Coloane Village
Apr 2014 • Couples
The Coloane Library is one of several minor attractions you can see around the quiet Coloane village in the southwest corner of Cotai.

It is a small building constructed around 1910. While small in size it is architecturally interesting, featuring a porch entrance lined with six Doric style columns, reminiscent of European style buildings.

Historically, the building served as a public school until the early 1980s when it was converted into a public library. Today, the property has been given a fresh coat of paint and is a gathering place for villagers who come here to read newspapers and use the library facilities.

In the end, this is a neat but quick stop to make if you are visiting Coloane village. It is just a few minutes away from the small square where you find the St. Francis Xavier church. There are a few interesting Chinese temples in the area and a nice promenade you can walk along the sea.
