hotel was good but Macau is with no spirit
Apr 2021
The hotel is great but the city and the atmosphere is nothing like las vegas. this is a bad imitation with a failure to copy what las vegas has to offer. It is not the nice hotels and buildings , it is the atmosphere and the shows and the cutlure. Do not expect to find the same quality in macau .

Nice Seahorse/Dolphin Show and aquarium
Aug 2020
My children loves to come to MGM to see fish at their aquarium. They also have the seahorse/dolphin show lately. It is the most quiet towards night time, with almost the whole lobby to ourselves. It is now very convenient to visit MGM as we can park in One Central with purchases from MGM.

Grand centrepiece aquarium

The MGM Casino in Macau has a very impressive atrium that features a cylindrical aquarium with an elaborate octopus like feature overlaying it. The casino like all in Macau is extensive and caters for a variety of games. Their are a number of restaurants to select from and some high end shops.

Really cool atrium!
Oct 2019
Fun to walk through, very elaborate, very ornate. Loved finding the big glass atrium full of butterflies and random oddities hanging from the ceiling! Instagramers dream. Didnt bother with the restaurants around the outside as they were $$!

A very nice Casino. We get e free shuttle bus from the Ferry to the Casino. The lobby is a center of attraction. You will surely love to visit this Casino and enjoy gaming too.

Beautiful, ornate lobby
May 2019 • Friends
We don’t gamble, but we loved walking through this exquisitely designed hotel. The lobby is incredible, with a giant fish tank, beautiful butterflies, and so much detail. This is much more beautiful than many hotels in Las Vegas. There are lots of shops and restaurants as well, though they seemed a bit expensive.

Please note there are shuttle service from Macau to Cotai for both MGM/Wynn. Just hop on the shuttle and make sure you know when the last shuttle leaves either locations. Slot play great, several machines to choose.

Not as big as other ones but staff is friendly and helpful. There’s free shuttle bus but this applies to all hotels and casinos. I don’t play but browsing was as good

Thank you for the shuttle services!
Apr 2019
We stayed in a nearby hotel and used the MGM shuttle services several times. It is a free ride from Macau MGM to Cotai MGM and back. They do not ask if you are their guest - you just hop on and the ride is free. Last one was at 11:30 PM. If you are traveling to the Coloane area and you are staying at Macau, this saves you 1/2 of the cab ride :)
By the way, their casino does provide free beer, but the waitresses were soooo slow that a few times we just left the area because the wait was too long.

Pretty good blackjack rules, high minimums
Mar 2019
I have been to mgm a few times in last couple of months. The first was in December 2018. I wanted to gamble at the Wynn but the 500 HKD minimums at blackjack scared me off and I was pleasantly surprised to fine 300 minimums at the mgm. This may have changed though or perhaps it’s a seasonality thing because during my last visit in March 2019 mgm also had minimums of 500 at blackjack tables.

Despite the high minimums the rules are pretty good and an article online that said MGM has some of the best is why I went here in the first place. Dealer stands on soft seventeen and surrenders are allowed. Doubling after splits also allowed as well as doubling with any card combo. However there are two rules that are less favorable and may be more recent. Style is European blackjack meaning the dealer does not peek to see if he has a blackjack before the hand is played out. This means if you are showing an 11 and the dealer a 10 you don’t double because you could lose to a blackjack whereas in Vegas you would because you know he does not have a blackjack. In addition to some slight strategy changes this rule also lowers your expected return over long run. Second thing I noticed (and not 100 percent sure on this so great if someone can confirm) is no double splitting of aces. I think this was previously allowed.

As in all macau casinos tables use continuous shufflers so you can’t count.

Another bonus here is that many of the chinese players do not drink too much so it’s easy to order as much beer for free as you want. Just ask the bit boss to call the waiter. And feel free to ask for 2 at a time if you like. Dealers english is not too great so not the best place to learn.

There is also a craps table near the blackjack section which is fun to visit. In general craps is not as popular in Asia so I was glad to find this one

If anyone else has info on blackjack rules throughout macau please post. I would be interested to hear if there are casinos that have even more favorable rules than MGM, for instance ones that allow double splitting of aces. I read one casino (pharoah?) actually has blackjack with no house edge if played correctly but rules are funky so I decided in practice that I would have worse odds due to more mistakes.
