The museum is conveniently located.
Opens 7 days 10:30am to 19:00.
The only rest day is first Monday of every month.
It shows how the Pawn shop stored their goods. How a Pawn shop looks like inside. Interesting. 15 minutes visit will do.

On Avenida Almeida Ribeiro near Senado Square, this is a look at a bygone era. take a few minutes to ponder the high clerical cages inside the door and climb the multi storage wooden storage vault in back. You won't be here more than a half hour, but it's worth a visit.

We stopped by the 'Tak Seng On' Pawnshop Museum (MOP5 per person) after visiting Rua da Felicidade, for a quick 10-15 minute visit to this interesting attraction, located on Av. Almeida Riberiro, about 4-5 minutes walk past Senado Square. It was a decent stop, worth your time if you're in that area and interested in this bit of historical link to Macau's past.
Exhibits within this two room museum were well displayed and easy to read. The first room has some books, accounts, interesting information as well as stamps and ink pads allowing visitors to mark their entrance tickets in the same manner as pawn book and account-keepers would have in the past. This made for a decent souvenir to take home.
The back room was restored in the fashion of a vault room with safes for valuable possessions and wooden cupboards for storing other pawned goods. There were two additional flights of stairs with wooden planks were less valuable, cloth and other pawned items would have been stored in the past. These were empty rooms but offered you some perspective of how they might have used in the past.
Overall, the Pawnshop Museum is quite small and much less impressive than the fine Grand Prix and the good Wine Museums that we had seen earlier in the day. However, if you are planning to visit the historic center of Macau, you might find this little museum interesting enough to seek out. It is ideally visited along with the Rue de Felicidade

Indeed worth it to visit! If u like antique, it's a must. Very cheap entry fee and not a big place. Took half an hour for us to finish taking photos. But beware of climbing up he stairs at the warehouse area. It's abit creepy there. My sis felt pain at her tummy area as we went up. She thought she saw some shadows. We left the pawnshop and took a bus right outside the pawnshop to anpther destination. But we couldn't find the place we wanted to go and ended up getting down the bus right outside the pawnshop main entrance. It's very dirty.... we had a chilling experience when we saw the main entrance right in front of us. Bring some amulets or religious emblem with you when you go to places with some history. That places is full of ghosts.

Pawnstars wouldn't know this place if they could even find their way to Macau. Very cool, ancient pawnshop. I thing the most interesting thing was the tower in the rear, which served as a strong hold for all the valuables.
Yeah, it's quick and won't take more than 10-15 minutes. It's also cheap, only 5 Macanese Patacas (62.5 cents, in U.S. dollars).
Recommend it.

This is a real pawn shop of the old days, back then most folks are poor, need to pawn anything to live by, therefore pawn shops are as many as 7-11, a guide tour of walk through inside, charge of fee Mop$5, last about 20 minutes, a gift shop next door offer
interesting useful items, worth a look, on the top floor, a tea shop offer free tasting, the building is a restored old Chinese house with wooden stairs, well worth the visit.

I learned quite a lot in less than an hour. I stamped my ticket (interactive displays) and admired the craftsmanship.

The Tak Seng Pawnshop an interesting attraction on Avenida Almeida Ribeiro. Built in 1917, this is an interesting view into the pawnshop industry that thrived in struggling Macau during the first half of the 20th century.
Here you will find a small exhibition including items typical for the the day to day running of the early pawnshops in Macau. Visitors can will see and explore as a vault room and upstairs storage used to hold valuable possessions and pawned items in the past.
You can combine your visit to the Pawnshop Museum with the fellow heritage attraction, the Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society building which is just next door. Combined both can be seen in as little as 15-20 minutes for those wanting to explore lesser known attractions in the World Heritage area of Macau.

Old pawn shop converted in museum in the busy Av. Almeida Ribeiro (Sun Ma Lo), entrance is very discreet (building was kept very close to original) so if pass by it you would never guess it is a Museum. Went there with some friends and entrance was free. 15 to 20 min visit will do it as is only to see how a pawn shop was structured in the old days.

Never pawned anything, so was my first visit to such a place. A little bare with not much signage. Having said that, was a good enough place for a short visit. The storage chamber, cupboards and safes were fascinating. Some of the equipment used, was on display. No entry fee was charged.
