About
The name Galaxy implies the celestial heavens above – with our laser show, we’ve more than lived up to it by touching the skies and beyond. As one of the largest laser shows in the world, our nightly showings employ state-of-the-art beams synchronized with surrounding music. With eight showings a night and a different spectacle every time, it’s a Galaxy MacauTM highlight that you can see from across Macau.

This is one hotel that we nearly miss while in Macau. Apparently, the visit is very rewarding. The giant diamond drop is awesome and the hotel lobby alone is spectacular. Hotel personnel are very accommodating. Should not be miss when in Macau.

Macao Galaxy Resort is a luxurious integrated resort. Its architecture is the theme of "the palace", which uses the golden color, symbolizing the color of the emperor. The top of the building is decorated with 24K golden leaves. This is the symbol of the Macao galaxy. The night of Galaxy is more dazzling, showing the magnificent palace breath. Galaxy hopes to give the guests a feeling like royalty, show in architectural design, at the same time in the service is also very thoughtful. There are less people than in Venetian, are relatively few tourists, and also more quiet. So I prefer the Galaxy to a more comfortable feeling. In the resort, can be seen everywhere peacock feather for the design of inspiration for the design of decorative, with the lights, very beautiful. In the shopping Avenue East, there are a lot of restaurants, such as the Portuguese, Italy, Hong Kong cuisine, Korean food and so on. If you don't know what to choose, go to the buffet. Festiva Buffet is a good choice. You can eat all the food in the country and it's delicious. If you want to eat some cheaper food, then go to the Tastes of Asian. Here are a number of fast food and dessert, just like the name of the food Square, there is a wealth of choice. In addition to the restaurant, there are some shops, for example, Choi Heong Yuen Bakery, Kee Wah Bakery...In 2015, the Galaxy second is opening, the Promenade Shops offer more shopping options, more than 200 shops. There are jewelry shop, watch shop, cosmetics shop, parity chain clothing stores, high-end boutique clothing store and so on.Macao Galaxy Resort is a luxurious integrated resort. First time to view would be a great show, but it's repeating every half-an-hour, sometimes may have little more live dancing show performing together with the Galaxy Laserama.

Have seen this many times as I live in Macau and frequently visit Galaxy. There’s something about the Galaxy Lobby that smells like chlorine and I believe it is this fountain. The diamond show is free but I would not be going out of my way to view it, very boring and tacky.

The Fortune Diamond is a free 3-4 minute show in the Galaxy hotel lobby on the Cotai Strip. This is one of the original features of the hotel that has been operating every day since the property opened in 2011. Some love it, others find it little more than kitsch tourism. You can always watch Youtube videos of the show before deciding to invest your sightseeing time on this free attraction or not while in Macau.
The show takes place from 10am to 12am (Sunday to Thursday) and 10am to 2am (Friday & Saturday) and is held every hour. In the past the show was held every 30 minutes but presently they have scaled back likely due to the lack of guests during the Covid-19 outbreak. I expect show frequency to revert once mass numbers of tourists return to Macau.
What you will see is a huge 3-metre tall replica diamond rise from the floor and rotate in front of you. Held by cables, the plastic gem appears to levitate while sparking in front of your eyes. Accompanied by colour, mystical sounds and water spouts, it is supposed to bedazzle viewers. If you watch the spectators, you will see that it does seem to achieve just that. Others will find it boring or even confusing and then just carry on with their visit to Galaxy.
In short, there is so much free entertainment and sightseeing in Macau these days. Quite a bit that has opened in the past 5 years alone. As such, I would not go out of my way to see the Fortune Diamond show, particularly if you are short on time in Macau. However, if you are staying at Galaxy and happen to be in the lobby area when show takes place, give it a few minutes to watch. You can then carry on with other intended activities at Galaxy.

Checked out the Laserama show at the Galaxy on our way through to China Rouge. Was pleasantly surprised by it.
At first it is spinning and lights are flashing, I'm thinking to myself "yah sure whatever, lets move on". Then it goes faster and faster and raises up and actually overall was a pretty good show for anyone just walking in the front entry of the Galaxy. Nice way to draw people in and welcome them.

It seems that many confuse the outdoor Laserama show with the lobby show called Diamond Fortune at the Galaxy Macau. The Diamond Fortune show is the 3 meter tall diamond that is lifted out of the ground in the lobby area, every 30 minutes throughout the day. Whereas the Laserama show is a held atop the roof of Galaxy Macau, several times a night and is approximately 10 minutes in length.
The Laserama show is billed as one of the largest laser shows in the world. The show is set to synchronised lighting of the roof area and music. The lasers shoot off in a variety of directions, like you'd expect when watching a laser show. The roof lights blink in a variety of colour schemes and flashing patterns.
In the end, the laser show is ok to watch if you are on Cotai Strip in the evening. You can see it for a few minutes but it is doubtful if this will register as much of a memorable activity for you compared to the many other interesting things to do and see in Macau. As such, we wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see the Laserama show, just have a quick look-see if you happen to be in the area when the laser show is taking place.
