Walked from Ruinas de Sao Paolo, ended up wandering aroud the center, along Avenida da Lisboa. Its dusk so was lucky to see the lights of the Grand Lisboa Casino/Hotel and other casinos around. Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas of Asia!
This is a landmark for visitors so better allot time to see this area better at night!

A must see for all visitors to Macau. It is like walking back many years ago and right into history. The building is by itself a landmark of Macau. The antiques that line the corridors are exquisite. The bored and unfriendly staff inside the casinos, and the working girls outside the casinos make the experience of visiting Lisboa a experience definetly not a hotel for the whole family

Like walking into a time warp when you walk through the doors and going back to 1963. The setting is just as it was when James Bond would have walked through the doors.
It is not somewhere that I would recommend staying but you must do a 10 minute walk through.

Yes, newer and grander casinos have overshadowed this place, but Casino Lisboa is the birthplace of Macau's gambling industry. While the facade is full of colonial flair, interior is distinctively Chinese. The old-fashioned vibe of Macau's first casino is quite unparalleled in the city where competition is the norm. Even non-gamblers should come and take a look.

stayed at this grand old lady before the renovations! old school charm in a world of neon and extravagance! they would replenish your mini bar every day, the old pool was fantastic. Not sure if I'm ready to go back and see the new Lisboa? as my memories are fond of my stay

Really limited options here compared to just about every other casino I’ve been to in Macau. I know it’s an historically important hotel but, as nice as the casino looks, I’d head somewhere else.

Grand lisboa is very colorful inside and especially outside. easily reachable by bus or by taxi or even by just walking. We did not gamble since we have kids with us when we traveled. We just went for picture taking.

The guy who was standing there for the free shuttle bus back to the ferry pier was so rude!!
First we were standing in line to wait for the bus and he shouted @ us that we have to stand here and there!! If you dont make a queue how do we know where we have to stand instead just playing on his phone and not working probably!!
Second you need to a have a bus ticket before you gonna board so we came back with a bus ticket and he was so disappointed we had one and look down at us!! I WAS REALLY PISSED!!! You wont threat people like this and your job is not being rude but being helpfull! But i really cant find anything positief about it

We took the ferry from Hong to Macau during the China Day holiday weekend. They are very high speed, beautiful ships, and it took about an hour. If you don't know, you have to have your passport as you leave Hong Kong and entering Macau you go through immigration. Same going back.
So we get off the ferry and are told or see signs to the free casino shuttles, can't remember exactly, hundreds of people in line for any casino bus they can get on. They have their own parking area and their own parking stalls. I looked for the Lisboa shuttle bus as you can't miss the hotel in the skyline as a marker. Didn't know then that there were two of them side by side.
So they take us to the casino and we get out. Okay, our plan was to wander around, see the sights come back to the casino, get a bus and go back to the ferry.
So we wander around with the thousands of other tourists and decide all the restaurants are full of people so getting hungry we go back to the Lisboa for lunch and walk over to the Wynn, watch the water show, roam around inside and then go back to the Lisboa to the shuttle bus and get in line to go back.
A curt woman comes up to us and asks "where are you going". We say the ferry terminal. She says you are in line for a bus to the Chinese border and tells us to get out of line. She takes us to another line and asks for our tickets. We say what tickets? So here's the clincher. You have to gamble and after you gamble you ask for a shuttle ticket. We told her we only had lunch, which was not good enough, we needed a ticket. No where did it say, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN TO GET BACK TO THE FERRY TERMINAL. TOUGH LUCK SUCKER.
This is good, so we ask were are the taxi's. So some security guard takes us all through the Lisboa to a door where the taxi cabs are. Find out that it will cost us $5 for a ride to the Ferry Boat we gladly get in and away we go back to the Ferry Terminal. Yes they do take HKD. DON'T CHANGE ANY MONEY.
If you get caught without a ticket just get a taxi. They are really, really cheap or better yet take a taxi to any of the other beautiful casinos and just skip the Lisboa all together. Works for me.
