Calm walk
Jan 2019
This area has many particular surroundings in terms of buildings and landscape. But we loved walking on the calm path. Sit and relax under the trees. Watch the lovely lit up macau skyline comprised of hotels, casinos and macau tower.

Quite area with historical properties and nice views
Feb 2019 • Solo
Sai Van Lake is an artificial lake that was once where the sea met the southern end of the Macau Peninsula. There is a nice street called Avenida Republica that is lined with trees and shaded park benches where you can enjoy views of the lake, Macau Towers and part of the Macau skyline of casinos and hotels to east.

Avenida de Republica is also lined with late 19th and early 20th century colonial period buildings, some of them with historic significance in fine condition while others are found in rather dilapidated state, in much need of restoration and care.

This is also a great location for watching fireworks displays that are held during New Year's Eve, Chinese New Year as well as the international Fireworks competitions held each September.

The quiet side of the Macau Peninsula
Feb 2018 • Couples
We enjoy walking along Avenida Republica, making use of the tree line and cobblestoned shaded path which runs alongside Sai Van Lake. This is a quiet and relaxed area in Macau to spend time if you are tired of the chaos of the Historic City Centre area.

One of the enjoyable things to see over the past 10 years is he build up of the casino skyline of the Macau Peninsula. From Sai Van Lake you can easily make out Grand Lisboa, Lisboa Hotel, Wynn Macao, Ascott Macau, MGM, Mandarin Oriental and others. It makes for nice views when sky conditions are favourable, both at day and night.

Another reason we enjoy browsing along Sai Van Lake are to see the handful of large colonial period buildings that have somehow survived the bygone decades and harder times in Macau during the 20th century. Some are dilapidated, others restored and kept in good order. At least one property, House #6, has a plaque with information about its original construction and architectural features (see pictures).

These heritage buildings are unknown to the tourist world and receive no tourist attention compared to the UNESCO World Heritage attractions and other colonial period buildings, like those found in St. Lazarus District and around Taipa Village.

Another reason for spending time at Sai Van Lake is to watch fireworks displays that take place in the harbour area. From here, views are pretty goo and you have the famous Macau Tower in the foreground. This can make for nice photographs during the fireworks displays.

Food Festival
Nov 2016 • Family
When it comes to the season of autumn in November, the Macau government will hold an activity, which is the Food Festival locals and tourists are also welcome. It is held in Sai Van Lake Square every year and has been hold for 16 years already. The theme this year is Malaysian Food. There are two kinds of food that I want to suggest to you. It is the light bulb drinks and the ice manias. The appearance is quite cute and adorable, it suits for girls like us to take selfie on, and the taste is not bad either. Additionally, it contains game booths and performance program to raise the atmosphere. There is a game which is call “Never Fail”, if you pay, you will at least get something instead of nothing. What is more, Free Shuttle Bus Service is provided for tourists and locals to reach there more conveniently. So what are you waiting for, let’s go and enjoy the happiness of eating before it ends on the 27th of November.

Macau Food Festival
Nov 2016 • Family
My friends and I went to the annual Macau Food Festival, and on November 11th to 27th, there was a group of gourmet shops from Sai Wan Lake Square selling things around the world. There are also suitable for a family to play, because there are performances and booth games. My friends and I bought a lot of things, because each stall line up a lot of people, so we buy something to eat, all take a long time. My friends and I bought Korean fried rice cake, but also to the village of Malaysia to buy Hainan chicken rice. I think there are more delicious things, but the weight is not too much, but the price a little expensive, but many people. However, if you want to try different parts of the world's food, here is a good choice. But it is only held once a year, if you want to feel the special events in Macau, need to pay attention to the time.

Good for a relaxing walk in the evenings
Sep 2015 • Solo
Sai Van Lake is the less commercialized of the two man-made lakes in Macau. It is on the way from the Barra Square to the Macau Tower and Taipa.

The road around the lake makes for a relaxing walk in the evening and there are several restaurants overlooking the lake where you can have a meal with a view. The area around the lake is primarily residential and has retained its old world charm.

This is the perfect escape from the Casinos and crowds of Macau.

Sai Van Lake
Apr 2016 • Friends
Sai Van Lake is a place which can make you feel comfortable during busy lives. Last week, I went there with my friends at night after dinner nearby, and walked along the lake because we were full. On the way, we also sat on the chair beside the lake and talked about our recent lives and future. I like Sai Van Lake since there was just a few people at night, so it is very quiet the soft wind made me feel relax. I think it is a good place for friends or lovers. Besides the landscape we could saw from Sai Van Lake was good. At Sai Van Lake you can see the Macau Tower and the bridges, it is beautiful especially at night. You can also watch firework show on particular day. And the water quality is good, it is clean and we can see some fish and crabs.
Things I want to recommend are that you cannot swim and fishing in Sai Van Lake, this warning is also posted on the signs around Sai Van Lake. You will be fined if you disobey it. Besides, there is no railing in Sai Van Lake, be careful not to fall in it.

Peace and tranquility from the busy city.
Jun 2014 • Couples
Sai Van lake is one of the two lakes on the Macau Peninsula adjacent to the harbour and is lined with a nice park with tree lined paths and benches providing a place for you to stroll and relax away from the noise and crowds. The view is decent, you can see the Macau tower, the three bridges and Taipa in the distance. However, there is nothing special to go out of the way to visit, it's just a nice quiet area.
