This is a northeast - southwest avenue on the Macau peninsula and where you find some best preserved colonial buildings in the city, located along the two block stretch between Tap Seac Square and Lou Lim Ioc Garden. Extending past Tap Seac Square, you will encounter a series of old Portuguese houses which have been well preserved and maintained. Most of the buildings are closed to the public. However, since 2015, one property has opened as the new Jao Tsung-I Academy, providing visitors opportunity to enter and see the interior of the historic building. You can enjoy the attractive buildings along Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida while sightseeing in the historic area of Macau between St. Lazarus District and Lou Lim Ioc.…

Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida extends northeast of Tap Seac Square to the Tea Culture House Museum at the corner of Lou Lim Ieoc Garden. Here you can find a beautiful series of buildings that are of Portuguese colonial style. The buildings are somewhat of an extension of those seen on Tap Seac Square and look more or less the same. While in Tap Seac, you can visit some of the colonial style buildings like the Tap Seac Gallery, which has periodic international art exhibitions that are usually quite good. You can also see the Historic Archives building which is now open with small exhibitions as well.…

We visited the attractions along Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeidia during the recent Chinese New Year holiday. While we were not particularly targeting this avenue as an attraction itself, we were very impressed with the beautifully painted houses and buildings that lined this street between Tap Seac Square and the Lou Lim Ieoc Gardens. The lovely painted buildings continued into the Tap Seac Square making a very nice stretch of ground to walk slowly and just admire the care and attention that has been given to these properties over the years. While not an attraction normally sought out in Macau, this area is rather beautiful and interesting to visit. As well as the attractions mentioned above, St. Michael's cemetery and chapel can be visited just a few minutes walk northwest of Tap Seac Square. A bit further west, in the direction of the Historic Centre of Macau, you enter the beautiful St. Lazarus district as well. Lastly, at the top of Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeidia, you can visit the very good Kun Iam Temple, our favourite temple in Macau.…
