Cute but short street in the Historic Centre of Macau
Feb 2020
Rua. de São Domingos (St. Dominic's Road) is a short disjoined street that starts at St. Dominic's Church and makes its way east for around 125 metres before becoming Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva and continuing eastward. There are colonial era buildings and numerous retail shops that line Rua. de São Domingos and interesting Portuguese style cobblestone sidewalks to enjoy here.

Shops are open from late morning until well after dark and the street is well lit during the evening, making it a fair place for a stroll if you are wanting to wander the World Heritage area later in the day. During the day, it can be very crowded however. In addition to Rua. de São Domingos, there are quite a few cute side streets to wander and browse in this area of the Historic Centre of Macau as well.

Shopping street in the Historic Centre of Macau
Apr 2018 • Solo
Rua de S. Domingos (Domingos Road) is a popular street in the Historic City of Centre of Macau. Streets are lined with retail shops that are open until late each evening. Sidewalks are lined with decorative cobblestones as well.

The buildings along Rua de S. Domingos are interesting. The ground floors are occupied by commercial shops. However, the upper floors are old colonial buildings, consistent with the architectural design and colour scheme of many others you will see within the Historic Centre of Macau and throughout Macau.

Rua de S. Domingos - Most shops open late these days
Aug 2014 • Couples
Rua de S. Domingos (Domingos Road) is a shopping street in the Historic City Centre of Macau, extending eastward from the area of Senado Square and St. Dominic's Church. The street is one-way driving traffic and lined with Portuguese style tiled sidewalks, typical of this area of the city.

With the influx of visitors to Macau over the past 5-10 years, shops on Rua de S. Domingos are now staying open until late, similar to what you find in Hong Kong. Walking this street in 8-9pm, you are still going to find the majority of shops with lights on with a few customers.

Here you can find clothing, shoes and accessory shops, a couple healthy and beauty products shops, chemists, bakeries and other typical high street (main street) style shops. There are mid to higher range shops like Nine West. If you are looking for luxury brand names, best to go to The One Central shopping mall at MGM and Mandarin hotel.

Good for shopping, not so good for historical attraction visits
Jan 2012 • Couples
Domingos Road is presently a modern shopping area which shoots off the Domingo Square within the World Heritage - City Centre of Macau area. Where many traditional streets have been rejuvenated and renovated in Macau to reflect their former Portuguese and Macanese influence and past, Domingos Road has been flooded with modern shops of all variety, making this area resemble any city shopping district in the world.

Overall, Domingos Road is nice for a walk and good for those wanting to do a bit of shopping but probably of less interest to those wanting to visit the historical attractions in this area of Macau.
