Great View, nice museum
Nov 2019
I really enjoyed the walk up, the topiary gardens and tropical flowers, and all the views. It was easy to get a taxi to wait for us at the parking area, and then take us to lunch after building up our appetite.

Spectacular panoramic view over Macau! Do not miss!

This place is a little bit of hike. but totally worth it. there is an escalator to take you there through the museum. The museum is situated next to the Ruins of St. Paul. This park is definitely a must see spot in Macau. You can see the Guia Lighthouse, the casino, china and so on.

Much needed rural space near the city centre

One of the green lung spaces in Macau is the Guia Hill Municipal Park. This is where you find the World Heritage Guia Fortress attractions. It is also where visitors can enjoy walking trails through wooded and shady hilltop grounds, children's playground and a few other items of interest within the park grounds.

To visit the Guia Hill Municipal Park, you can walk up the fairly steep Calcada do Gaio past Jardim de Vasco de Gama and Hotel Guia before arriving at the zigzagging trail up the hill.

Another way to visit the park is by way of the foot path winding up the hill from the base of Flora Garden. Lastly, visitors can simply take the Guia Cable Car (MOP2 one way, MOP3 return). This is a short 2-minute ride from Flora Garden to the the Guia Hill Municipal Park.

Great to explore!

We really enjoyed explorinhg this verdant area. The trees glistened with moisture and everything seemed fresh and born anew last weekend. We even beheld squirrels scampering along the trees.

Rare green space and wooded area on the Macau Peninsula
Feb 2018 • Couples
Guia Hill is most notably the location of a cluster of UNESCO World Heritage attractions (Guia Lighthouse, Chapel and Fortress) which perch upon the peak of Guia Hill overlooking the rest of Macau Peninsula. However, there hill itself is rather large offering walking trails, historic tunnels and bunker sights and an area known as the Guia Hill Municipal Park.

The park can be reached by walking up the Estr. dos Parses to the Guia Fortress and entering the park area from there. Alternatively, a fun approach is to take the Guia Cable Car from the lower Flores Garden up to Guia Hill where the park area can be found. Cable Car ride is just MOP2 one way, MOP3 return and the ride is around 90 seconds in length. You can also walk up a short series of switchbacks from the back of Flores Garden up to Guia Hill an the Municipal Park.

The park itself consists of an expected collection of children's playground area, elderly exercise questions, sports field, public bathroom and educational building facilities. There are shaded pathway which also circles Guia Hill and lots of green space and wooded area - a rarity and Macau.

In the end, not much attention is given to the Guia Hill Municipal Park as a tourist area. Most visit here for the World Heritage attractions and then return back to the streets for the attraction packed area of the Historic Centre of Macau. However, if you find yourself visiting Macau for 3-4 days, this is a great spot for quiet space in the outdoors and a great place to take a break from the chaos of the city below.
