With Macau having reopened to the outside world after the pandemic, ferry service to/from Hong Kong has returned after nearly 3 years of being suspended.
Presently, TurboJet and Cotai Water Jet are each offering 5-6 daily sailings between Sheung Wan (HK Island) and Taipa (Cotai) from around 9am and 5pm. As of right now, evening sailings are limited to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal (Macau Peninsula). This will surely change in the near future as demand picks up for more ferry service to the Cotai properties from those in Hong Kong.
Arriving at the Taipa Ferry Terminal, which is as many have pointed out, quite the oversized and somewhat clunky building, make your way through immigration and then to onward transportation which includes taxis, public busses, the LRT line (Taipa Ferry Terminal Station) or the fleet of free hotel shuttle service buses to your onward destination in Macau.
Within the ferry terminal there is a Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) office that is open. This is a good place to pick up maps of Macau as well as the useful What's On Macau city guide, detailing events, festivities, activities and exhibitions around the city. The guide also comes with a handy little city map that can be folded and fit into your pocket nicely. There are plenty of public toilets, a handful of shops and eateries at the ferry terminal as well.

We took a day trip to Macau via the jet foil and this is where we entered and departed Macau. Entering Macau was very easy with no lines. Restrooms were clean. There were a number of places to grab a snack and currency exchanges. Our tour guide met us and we then proceeded to our bus. The facility is new and spacious. Our guide told us that the US casinos paid for the new immigration facility. Departure was also seamless.

This is the newer and less crowded ferry pier in Macau. Although transport option is limited at this moment due to COVID, the Taipa terminal is a more pleasant place to start any trip to Las Vegas of the Orient. Hopefully more buses to various casinos will be available soon.

The terminal is great as it offers through checking and tax refund paper work facility so no need to do immigration on HK just pass directly to security and claim tax refund.

The new Ferry Terminal at Tiapa is really first class.
Arrivals is good, easy to access and no delays with customs immigration or luggage services. Departures is equally good, easy to access with Immigration boarding and luggage services all easy to access and use.
Far easier to access than the Outer Harbour Ferry.
Good experience and easy to use for disabled person.

This terminal is huge. I think it's as big as the airport terminal. Immigration formalities were quick and efficient.

The ferry terminal was very nice. We had some problems with actually getting our tickets. I recommend booking ahead of time. They fill up fast and you may have to wait for a later ferry if you go the day of. We ended up having to wait 3 hours because we didn't book ahead of time. Once we were actually in the station it was super nice. Also, if they put you on a later ferry, don't be afraid to ask inside the terminal if earlier ones are actually full. On our way back to Hong Kong they let us on the earlier ferry.

Hello Tonix,
You can certainly do that if you like. However, note that there are very limited ferries departing the Taipa ferry terminal in route to the Kowloon based terminal in TST, Hong Kong. Pretty much all ferries go to the HK Macau ferry terminal in Sheung Wan, HK instead. You can find out more from the experts that support the TripAdvisor Macau forum. I'd do my trip research there.

There are more ferrys to the main Hong Kong terminal and it is easy to get across on the harbour on the local ferry.
