Interactive and role-play theme park at Sands Cotai Central
Apr 2019
Planet J is a player-centric, action role playing theme park at Sands Cotai Central on the Cotai Strip. It is located on Level 3 of the Shoppes at Sands Cotai Central near the food court. Opening hours are 10am to 7pm (Monday to Friday) and 10am to 8pm (Sat & Sun) and entry is MOP220 per person per day.

Here you find over 9,300 square metres of space fitted with eight distinct gaming areas and over 200 game installations, creating a fun and interactive role-play game environment and experience. Visitors are able to dress up like characters as you solve problems and pass challenges in effort to save the Magic Stone Kingdom.

Place to hang out with kids
Jun 2019 • Family
The game is intended for 8 years old or above, adult supervision is needed for those under 8 years old. Three years old or below get free entry. Lockers available for Mop 10. Snack bar available, soft drinks, water, pop corns, chips, all at hotel-level price.

My daughter loves Planet J after the visiting first time. Both kids and adults could dress up like the character in Planet J. I think kids age 7-10 would be very much excited with the costume as they role play saving princess or fighting monsters inside this place.

At 17:30, there is a show, magic show, Character COCO comes out to meet the kids and also a snowing effect. Quite real and interesting for the young ones.

Lots of photo opportunities. They have official photographs which are at acceptable price. Great when you don’t always do selfie or you want something memorable with your child.

For kids like 6-7, adult will need to give a hand on reading map and listening to the instructions. First few times you may need some patience to solve the puzzle. Or get some clue with to do next. When you get used to it, it will be easier. Staff are friendly in explaining and with patience.

When we leave, there is an offer for Mop 299, for two person, day pass, with bonus a big soft toy. This price is much cheaper then the first visit Mop 220@ person. It’s more acceptable and that it last for six months.

Will keep visiting.

Not the first time to play but not updated yet
Feb 2019 • Family
This is my third time to visit and play with my daughter. The front desk staff is not professional that she couldn’t even answer the version is updated yet or not. But it included 2 new VR games that we visit again. But not recommended to return unless the game is updated and the VR is not so fun.

Awesome Theme Park-better than Disney Land
May 2018 • Family
This is an interactive theme park that is about 9,300 square meters big. It is a combination of video games and exercise. I went there twice with my family and friends and we had a lot of fun. We went on quests that will need you to walk around and follow instructions on a magic scroll (an interactive map that you could hold like an I-phone) and solve puzzles, defeat monsters like dragons and giant mushrooms while collecting items that could be saved in the software that is in the scroll. I went there with my friends who are both 9 years old and my 7 years old sister and we were following the scroll to meet people on the screen on both TVs and the scrolls; they will tell us clues that we could use during our quest. When we were there, we even got to dress up in capes and get weapons such as swords and axes. The scroll was light and really easy to carry; it could also teach you how to read maps and go from points to points. The game can be played by one person or by many people together. I played with my friends without adult assistance and we were still okay to play by ourselves. There are many different tracks that you could take in the quest. You are a hero in the quest and you have a magic stone creature named Bobo that will help you while you try to save a kingdom that is called the Magic Stone Kingdom. My Dad and Mom took off with their friends and did their own quest, and even they thought it was fun. The bonus add is with a day pass which only cost ~HKD 280, you could play unlimited VR games as well. After you finished playing, you could go to the gift shop and use the point you earned from purchasing tickets to redeems things such as keychains. If you didn't have enough time to finish all 7 chapters from the game, you could save your record and come next time. If you really cannot think of how to solve the puzzle, you could ask the staffs for help. Most of the puzzles were not that hard, but some of the levels may be a bit more challenging. It is indoor, so there is air conditioner inside the room and since it is indoor, you could go there on both sunny and rainy days. The decorations inside the room were amazing. I liked it so much I cannot think of anything that needs improvement. I recommend it to both adults and children to go. It is so fun that after you start playing, you won't be able to stop playing.

Planet J tries hard but does not please
Dec 2016 • Family
Spent a few hours in Planet J with my two kids age 9 and 12. By signing up as member on spot (no membership fees), discounts were given on the tickets and gift vouchers were given as a welcome gift. So, do take up the membership offer. The place is well-kept and decorated. Concept is good but operationally, not viable and sustainable. The scroll was cumbersome to carry around and the children being children, the scroll is not kids-friendly, prone to drop if not handled properly. Next, the kids had to be escorted from point to point by the staff. The games are not as interactive as they looked to be. However, points are given to their make-over counter that is well-stocked with different costumes and props that are free for use. Overall, don't seem that it can sustain if it carries on in this method of operandis. Kids-entertainment index is low.

Waste of Time and Money - don't bother
Oct 2016 • Family
What a waste. It is very obvious that someone has spent a lot of money but hasn't had a clue of what to spend it on. This place is supposed to be an interactive theme park, but is not. The hardware is amazing, that is the place looks great but the so called games are a joke. Kids can get better on their phones. Don't bother.
