So it’s not the most remarkable experience you’ll have, but worth a quick peek on the way to the Lighthouse/Beach area.

We were heading to the lighthouse and Playa Sucia and fortunately decided to check this out. A neat little stop with a very informative visitor center and lots of great information. The view from the observation deck is impressive

The salt flats were really neat. The wildlife refuge from what I saw was just a lot of wild cats though.

Climbed the tower to see the best view of the salt flats. Visited the interpretive center and had an excellent tour! The guide was very informative. You can purchase a small bag of salt and other items. Well worth the stop.

We were the only people here on this day and come to realize that the tower to the salt flats was only open Wednesday-Sunday. We hiked in the woods to the observation tower which took about 20-25 minutes of brisk walking. We were prepared with...More
