Our cooking class with Ben was amazing! We wanted to do something special for my birthday and since I love food, this was the perfect experience while in the Gilis. Ben and the team greeted us with warm smiles and once the group was together, we set off in the kitchen to cook up a delicious Indonesian storm! Ben was informative, patient and so funny! He gave us the tips to make delicious food that we will continue to recreate once we are back home. We cooked six traditional plates and he helped balance the spice so both myself and partner could enjoy every bite (I love heat while my boyfriend doesnt like spice!) we learned a lot while having fun and tantalising our taste buds! Oka was a funny and great host for our group of eight people. Most of the food is already prepped so it's fairly simple. But fun! And the food was amazing! This is a great way to spend an evening with family and friends. It's right on the main road so you have lots of people watching the show in the kitchen.

We did this as part of our honeymoon and is definitely one of our favourite memories from our trip! Really well organised, good food & atmosphere! The team learnt your name, made jokes and were so engaging so it felt like a really personal experience. My husband has a nut allergy and they adapted the recipes with no problem and even sent us the different sauces for us to recreate afterwards. Really worth a visit for a fun evening or lunch time event!

We did the 2h cooking class with Ben. It was a great time! Ben is great, he sets the mood, gives good advice to prepare great dishes, which we could enjoy at the end. I highly recommend as an experience

Waw !!!wat a amazing experience- great chef - attentive staff - cooking fabulous dishes from scratch with local ingredients - I learned so much - even got the recipes send in my mailbox - staff demonstrates - guides you through and make sure you get it “right” it was better than some restaurants I ate !!! We had the best experience with cooking Indonesian food at Gili cooking classes. Ben was an exceptional teacher and a real hoot! He was genuinely kind and gentle!! The place was clean and tidy and there were all round good vibes… We loved that it was very hands on and we made all dishes! The pace of the lesson was perfect too! We left totally satisfied and would 100% recommend this to other travellers…

A very nice cooking course, where everything was explained to us very clearly. The chef was attentive, and conducted the course with humor and good humor. I took the course with my 5-year-old daughter and she was well invested in preparations. We ended the course eating what we had cooked. That was great!

My experience at Gili cooking class with Oka & Wan exceeded my expectation . The guys were not only friendly & quick to put me at ease , pairing me up with another solo traveller . They were also knowledgeable about ingredients & dishes & very encouraging when participating in all areas of cooking from prepping to finishing touches . Thoroughly enjoyed my evening & going back home with a few more skills, thanks guys & highly recommend to anyone who wants to try something different on Gili Air .

Super beautiful 2 hour cooking class! Ben, the guy who followed us and colleagues were really nice and patient during the experience 😍we cooked several typical dishes all very good and replicable at home 🌺 I recommend to everyone this experience that is really worth the price paid😍 we had a lot of fun!
