We booked this before coming away and I must say, we had a fantastic evening. The staff were really good and very friendly. We got to cook some real traditional Indonesian food and they emailed us the recipes so we can replicate them when we get back home. This was a real fun thing to do and we got to eat all of the things we cooked. Would highly recommend this if you enjoy your cooking as much as we do.

Definitely recommend. The staff were lots of fun and played music while we cooked which made you want to dance. The kitchen was very clean and had good equipment. We made a starter main course and dessert first then had a break where we went outside to eat. When we came back we made fried noodles and steamed fish in a banana leaf with a delicious sauce. The chef explained all the ingredients we used and the meals were well-balanced, healthy and delicious. We were all pretty full after the first load of food so took it away with us and had for lunch the next day đź‘Ś. Big thank you to the team at sweet and spicy

This place is a must!
Whether you are travelling solo or in a group! This cooking school was beyond amazing.
I’ve done a few cooking schools around the world and this was up there with one of the most enjoyable ever...

The communication was great, the food was amazing however I was never given or sent the recipes for what I cooked. :(
Disappointing but the overall experience was lovely!
Thank you

My Girlfriend and I had been really looking forward to a cooking class since we started booking our trip. We had seen the trip advisor reviews and thought it would be a really good place to go.

Just to be clear.. We have never written a review on trip advisor before, and have joined just to explain our visit to sweet and Spicy. We rarely have issues with anywhere we visit and are not massively picky, but we were so disappointed we felt we had to share it to stop others making the same mistake.

I will keep this short, but essentially our teacher was late, and when he did arrive he was high. He admitted to taking magic mushrooms before the class, and the manager ignored it as he danced around, shouting. It was pretty intimidating and after leaving, I emailed the manager for the menu's we were promised and had not recieved by email. I expressed my concerns about the teacher and never got a reply.

They seem very quiet at the moment, and desperate for custom. I think the business is going downhill and if this post stops even one person making the mistake we did, it will be worth it.

My family had a great time learning how to make five different dishes of Indonesian food. The staff were efficient and very helpful. We all enjoyed the experience ( 5 adults and 4 children) and the food was delicious. We all, agreed it was the best a Indonesian meal we had eaten on Trewangen. The ingredients were all set out beautifully beforehand and it was very easy to follow instructions. Also you could modify the amount of chilli according to taste - which suited the children particularly. Another thing I appreciated was the attention to cleanliness and everything spotless. I can thoroughly recommend this activity as an enjoyable experience on Trewangen.

My friend and I did the evening course one day back in June, we loved it. The chefs were really nice and made the experience a lot of fun. It's pretty good value for money as the course took a couple of hours and we made lots of different dishes...you get all of the ingredients and get to eat everything as you cook. I'd highly recommend it as something to do for one of the evenings on Gilli T when you might be looking for something different to do besides the restaurants/bars, great fun!
