About
This lively hippie market has been an enclave of creativity in Es Canar since 1973. Here, you can soak up the bohemian atmosphere, get a henna tattoo, and explore over 500 colorful stalls and tents. You'll see local artisans and artists showing off their handmade clothes, jewelry, cosmetics and antiques, and also food stalls selling local Iberian fare and wine. There are also live musical performances staged, featuring local and international musicians across genres. The kids will also love the children's play area, where they can get their faces painted and make flower crowns while the adults shop. The opening days and hours change throughout the year so remember to check before you head down. – Tripadvisor

    A large and varied market
We went to the market in the afternoon as it was a little cooler and hopefully, less busy. There was still a crowd there, but we were able to get around easily. The market was full of varied stalls - clothes, jewelry, glassware, perfume and many various hand made gifts. There was a lovely feel as we walked around, stopping to listen to a singer. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend this as an excursion.

Awesome market surrounded by stunning nature
What an amazing, fun and interesting place this is :) I have been there twice and each time it is really cool and one of the highlights. Especially if you do the day-boat trip, it's just so relaxing and yet exciting and all. Also the surrounding nature is just so beautiful and tranquil Punta Arabi is definitely recommended

    Nosing around the hippie market
Our host took us to this market because I loooove markets. It was big and full of many hippie and exciting craftworks. It had many hippie clothes stores but they were not cheap or market value as I might expect. I picked up one long holey Lacey cotton skirt at 95 Euro and put it straight back! It had many jewellery and silversmiths stalls, if you’re looking for wearable handcrafted and personalised jewellery. I saw two stalls with Reiki and Buddha items. There were plenty of crystals and singing bowls stalls, also presented as wearables accessories. There were no idols or momentous stalls just the usual and average concept materials considered ‘hippie’. I would like to have seen more hippie homewears such as zen and natural items. I did find a Tibetan bells and would like to see more artefact such as Shingon wheel, mandala arts or something like those you see in Yoga and retreat centres. A good place to visit though.

So glad I took a day trip from Ibiza city to this location. It is easily accessible by bus fro Ibiza city, but be aware that return busses stop somewhat early (check schedules based on season) and a taxi back to the city cost over 34euro. However, it was entirely worth it- the shops are super interesting, there is music and local wares, local goods and beer. I found the people here to be much friendlier than elsewhere in the island, and the vibe is relaxed and calm. Got some great local wares to take home. Will definitely return when I can!

There’s very little “hippy” about this market, which is basically there as a tourist trap.

Once you’ve paid €4 to park on a patch of disused land, you enter a large collection of stalls selling goods that appear to be imports from the Far East. Very few stalls had anything that was locally made, and prices are way higher than local shops.

Very busy though, so keep wearing your mask, despite a lot of others not bothering once past the entrance. Do your best to social distance (which was nigh on impossible, and we visited towards the end of the day when it was less busy)

I personally won’t be back. Try the Las Dalias market instead, a far more authentic experience.

It’s a market. Not sure where the hippy part comes in. Maybe years ago it was but not now. Like others have said there are some amazing things for sale. Some original even 😊 But as I was staying in the area I was able to compare prices…. Some items are much more expensive at the “market”… It’s a great experience if you’ve never been before…. Just be mindful of what you buy 😊

Looking at many of the other photos, I can assume this dies down a bit later in the season as I think I went to two of the last ones of the year - it was more of just the market with some food stalls. But it was still very vibrant and exciting - lots of stalls, and smells, and sounds, generally a great multisensory experience.
Maybe not so good for young children or older people, it was very crowded, and those who did bring buggies just got in the way - and I saw lots of older folk at the sides wondering how to get out. But everyone in between seemed to be enjoying the hustle and bustle.
Got a few bargains, most stall owners are happy to barter, and while you see a lot of the same stuff, there are also lots of nice unique objects that are great for souvenirs. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to the area.

When I'm in Ibiza I thought I had to visit a hippie market. This is said to be one of the biggest. I was here pretty early in the morning and the crowds were limited. Everything after 12 o'clock was just crowded. Partly the goods are really overpriced & also the food&
Drink. (Red Bull 8€ & crepe 6€)
There are many parking spaces this cost 5€ & is just outside the city's market.

Not your usual souvenir, looky, looky Market. Handmade local sellers so the prices are quite high but good quality items. Food was very expensive, €7 for a cone of fries. Very hot and crowded, preffered the night hippy market at La Dalias as cooler and the lights make it quite magical.

To be honest, it is a flea market, alot of stalls selling the same stuff. Bob Marley and petunia oil (amongst other things) in the air, some fine art for sale and the usual bric a brac. Best to go before 10.30 as it gets very busy.

A lovely bustling market open on Wednesdays. There are plenty of cafe/ food options inside and nearby so you can go and make a day of it. Some things are a bit pricey, jewellery, souvenirs (cheaper at the many souvenir shops in playa de bossa area where we stayed). You will get some lovely bespoke items here which you couldn’t find in the shops. We also stocked up on crystals here at some of the Crystal stalls. Everyone’s very friendly and helpful. Card payments taken at all the stalls we shopped at although some prefer cash. A nice Ibiza vibe. Great for families, groups and singles. A nice day out. Weather was lovely even though was forecast rain and was overcast further south where our hotel was. Worth a visit.

It was a fun morning trip via the Ibza fun train.
The market is full with a free for all direction it seems making it a tad chaotic at times..
We browsed and bought a few Wicker shades which we had not seen elsewhere and a few craft things for our Christmas tree.
Yes the watch guy was there but they looked awfully blingy this year.
We certainly saw the same items elsewhere and for half the price.
To sum up.. it's OK but not really a Hippy Market more middle aged English type weekend hippies selling produce they bought locally elsewhere on ebay.

The €30 Bo Ho long sleeve tops they were selling I bought locally in Cala Llonga for €3.99!.. It's a Hippy hustle but we enjoyed ourselves..

This market has nothing to do with hippies. The market is full of smart Dutch entrepreneurs who mainly offer women's clothing and expensive jewelry at high prices. Often in the colorful so-called Ibiza style. Even the prices of the snacks are not normal.
