Given the reviews on here, I was expecting this museum to be great! However, the temporary exhibition on the White Isle, was tepid, and the rest of the museum had little explanations of the individual pieces and working out any connection to the isle of...More

I did a reconnaissance visit when a lot of the gallery space was closed for an upcoming exhibition. Bizarre glass flooring at the bottom over Roman archaeological remains -- of graves I believe. Nothing stunning in the collection but some interesting abstraction on show. I...More

Stunning building, including a glass floor showing the old walls beneath. But I found the art very uninspiring.

What a fantastic hour or so! In a great location just up the main ramp into the walled old town. A free of charge contemporary art space, oozing with quality work. The floor in the lower level is glass exposing the old stone below it,...More

A nice museum of contemporary art housed in an interesting building with a glass floor showing old foundations. The art on display from mostly local artists is not spectacular. Still all in all it's ok to spend an hour or so when you are in...More

As every with modern art, some of the exhibits are rather confusing but all are though-provoking and well displayed. The building itself has a glass floor in the basement which lets you see the historic remains below it and this is a good juxtaposition with...More

Lovely collection in an original building, especially the ground floor with the glass floor was very special. First we almost didn't find the museum, but once you're there you don't wanna leave. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful. Totally recommend this place, additionally...More

Lovely collection in a fantastic venue. A mix of the old and the new. Well worth visiting. Free entry too! A wee gem!

The best piece of art is the building itself. More from the inside than from the outside. Great asset to the old town. Recommended even if you are not a modern art lover.

Fell across this when walking through the old town. Good exhibits; paintings, installations and you can see through the glass floor to the ruins on the lower floor. All in a great space and it's free too!
