    Good for the family.
My family and I (children 4 and 9) really like this beach. There are waves and sand and rocks. Chic mountain views when you swim. You can take cool photos at sunset. Kids have plenty of room to run. Black sand, cool. Lifeguards are on duty, there's a bar and a restaurant.

Very nice and secluded beach, with lifeguards.
Very nice beach. It's a volcanic beach, so no sand but that is no problem to me. It is not very crowded (was here in August) but still there are some people...just enough. :) There are also lifeguards and there is a small restaurant and cocktail bar from which you can enjoy the beautiful views. Been coming here for 13 years and will be back. ;)

    Watch turtles from the beach!
The beach is surrounded by houses that line up above the cliffs. It's not heavily trafficked. There are free umbrellas and lifeguards are also on site. If you bring peace and time you can watch turtles from the beach. They first appear as a dark spot below the surface of the water and then appear briefly. Just fascinating.

Autumn holiday trip with a 4.5-year-old and a 7-year-old. Warm water and free umbrellas. Quite current, gets deep quickly but everyone thought it was fun to "ride the waves". But it is not a water you let the children bathe in by themselves. There were bodyguards on site and they were flying a green or yellow flag when we were there. Cool environment and beautiful stones. We were on the beach for a few hours every day and was a good addition to the hotel pool.

Typical Tenerife Black Sand Beach, with very hot sand.
Very swimable most of the time, only on a few occasions when the sea's high waves will stop you.
Unfortunately the beach bar has closed down & is starting to look very tatty.
A good little beach but unfortunately that's it

Beach with supervision and shower. If you are lucky or patient, you can get one of the permanent umbrellas. These are not in the best condition, but at least during our stay in Callao Salvaje they were free to use.
For us, the beach was within walking distance, but I wouldn't drive there from further away, in my opinion it's not worth it.

Disappointed ☹️ with this beach if that’s what you can call it. Filthy dirty not looked after at all. Lifeguards on duty but sea was quite strong also got deep very quickly. Seen numerous people bowled over. Only good thing my wife found some decent sea glass. Other than that spent less than a day there out of 10. For me that sums it up.☹️

January visit. A beautiful beach with black sand and pebbles ( bring foot protection swim shoes). Clean water with lifeguard protection ( not always). Fixed parasols but no sun loungers for rent. Please repair the shower st rear of beach.
Very pleasant cafe, restaurant at rear of beach. Municipal staff, great workers, congratulations on the big effort landscaping the rough area and walkway behind the beach. Please, Could a path be provided on the walk towards Playa las Galgas.

This beach is really lovely! Super clean, and not too packed (although it could have been the time of year)! You can rent Sunbeds for a couple of Euros. The beach is only a few minutes walk from Callao Salvaje, perfect if you are staying in Pearly Grey or Tropical Park. One think I will say, as it is black sand, it is very rough on your feet and you will not be able to go into the Sea without shoes on, so if you have swim shoes handy or can purchase them somewhere do bring them with you!

Black sand = goth beach.
Black sand also equals volcanic, which means stones and pebbles. LOTS OF STONES AND PEBBLES.
My husband claims to have calloused Hobbit feet, so didn't mind walking about without his sandals. Whereas I was wincing and making faces as I minced my way down to the sea to go for a paddle.

We didn't see any sun loungers for hire, or anyone there in any sort of professional capacity. We just went with our beach towels, snacks, and a carry out from one of the supermarkets. I imagine in the summer months it's much busier.

I'm glad we visited, for the novelty if nothing else. Plus my husband got to swim in the sea rather than a hotel pool.

I’m not sure what all these miserable people writing reviews wanted from a beach. But it had sand yes black sand but golden sand gets everywhere too but with black sand you can see it. It’s not a long walk really. And the water is lovely very few people there when I went. The beach chairs are 4 Euros per person but hey it won’t break the bank. And the restaurant was closed till Nov as it’s being refitted but there you go. But would be amazing when it’s open! Amazing views and peaceful.

Stop your moaning, the clue is in the name,it's a man made beach with black sand, sheltered by a large concrete break, but otherwise open to the Atlantic. The beach restaurant has been shut for a while and as a result the area isa bit tired and it is unloved, but is reopening soon and is a great location, plenty of parking and great restaurants and bars, close by locally, Nebula springs as being exceptional keep the faith!

The beach is a mixture of black sand and shingle, sun beds with parasols are priced at 9€
For 2 beds + parasol, each of the parasols have a wireless call button with which you can order food and drinks from the beach restaurants (2 one upper and one lower) we made the mistake of going to the lower one and found out to late that meals taken to you at your beds are slightly
cheaper.
Youre beds are paid for the day and the attendant will tell you to leave your towels in place while you're away.
That said the food and service are good, they will prepare and serve fresh fish on request.
If you prefer there are many other eateries nearby or use the supermarket nearby.
The bay is good for snorkeling ( weather permitting) a lifeguard was on duty on all of our visits, there is a concrete jetty which people were diving and jumping off , this seems quite safe most of the time with care though.
Worth noting that you are asked 50c to use the restaurant toilets if you're not eating.
There is a beach shower ( didn't use so not sure if it's saltwater or fresh ).
