It’s only a 10 minute walk through the forest to get here from the nearby car parking and picnic area; some of the outside walls are majestic and well-preserved; there’s not much to see inside; but be sure to climb the tall tower; the view over the ruins is wonderful; if you climb the tower, this castle ruin is definitely worth going out of your way for.

Google Maps will try to tell you you can get there by car; don't believe them. And fortunately so, since it's really a lovely walk up there!

the hike to chateau wasembourg is not difficult to do, we were surprised to find there a folly made with some roman stones , we would liked the linking trail of charles mathis but sadly because of cutting trees by a forester we could not.

As we were last Sunday there, we enjoyed our stay. The Castle has a great History to tell. It used to be an ancient German Castle. It was built in the 12th Century. The Castle sits on a Hill, which lies in the middle of the Forrest at Niederbronn les Bains.

You don't have to pay for the visit. But there is no Carpark direct by the Ruin. You have to park your Vehicel in the the town. From the town to the Castle is a walk, which takes you araund 30 minutes.

But after you arrived this Romantic, mystic and Beautiful Castle, you will know, that the visit was worth the walk.

Very Beautiful to look at, is the large Window with it' s Arc's.

We will go there again.
