I loved the story behind the sanctuary and the idea they set them out in the wild also. For the small visitors area the entrance fee is pretty high 100 pesos, but it is all for the butterflies and dragonflies that live there. So I was told.

Very environmental aware sanctuary that actually also sets butterflies and dragonflies free in the wild. Beautiful visit for butterfly lovers or for those that want to contribute to a better healthier eco system in the Philippines. Don;t skipp the donation box! :-)

A little out of the way, easy to get to if you visit the water falls first (they are fantastic). We spent an hour here. The Butterflys are housed in a netted area, packed with plants and cooling misters. The host / manager will stay with you, explaining the system and the varietys you see. Not a wide variety, buy... a worthwhile place to visit, they are trying to preserve the butterfly and there are some very nice ones to see, you can get some good photographs.

We stopped here on purpose but it was just something additional to viewing the mountains and the waterfall. I turned into one of the best parts of the day!! We were the only ones there and we were left alone. We sat for ages watching them all, if you put your finger out they climb on to it, there are... More

We stopped here while heading to the nearby mountain lookout. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and showed us some newly hatched butterflies. One of the enclosures is under repair, but the one intact enclosure is pretty neat. This is a good place to stop by if checking out the interior of the island, such as the waterfalls and caves.... Nice farm far in the middle of the nature. The man in charged explained us the different stages of butterflies' life. It was interesting. Visited the Sanctuary at the end of day, but would recommend to go when sun is higher. Light was low for some photos. Entrance fee was 100 PHP per pax.

This butterfly garden is very nice even if relatively small. You'll see beautiful butterflies and caterpillars up close. Great for macro photography! What I enjoyed most was meeting the local guy who runs the place. He is very nice and committed to conservation despite the numerous difficulties. He is one of those rare people with a noble vision. 40% of... More

Few kinds of butterflies. Friendly guide.good price. A very good idea is to open a small restaurant here, because no such facility is nearby. The sanctuary offers some beverages.
