This is a little gem hidden away in the mountains of Siquijor. The roads are less traveled up here and just the ride up is amazing in itself. There are so many beautiful native butterfly species here and they are hoping to expand to protect even more. A big percentage of butterflies bred here are released back into the wild... More

It is quite a ride to get there and is a bit hard to find, it's pretty much at the op of the mountain hidden off the main road. It has a 100peso entry fee this is supposedly because they reciever no funding and are self sufficient. Anyway the 'Farm' is a 4x4m enclosure with plants and maybe 50 odd... More

What a beautiful place!! What amazing people! A little paradise on the very top of Siquijor... Dante and his family created this beautiful little butterfly garden to protect them as they are seriously endangered because of the chemicals used around the island. Deforestation problems on the island and climate change are also affecting them a lot, from what they've explained... More

We visited the butterfly sanctuary by accident. The guy who owns the shop saw us riding and asked if we wanted to visit. And we were glad we did, he was very enthousiastic and friendly. He told us all about the butterflies. The garden he built was beautiful and there are many butterflies! If you can you should really go... More

Not sure, what to think of this privately managed Butterfly garden. The owner wanted to charge us 100 php per person for a small area covered with a net. He mentioned, that he is not getting supported by the government, hence the stiff price. To be honest, this made me more suspicious than actually wanting to support his business. I... More

I loved the story behind the sanctuary and the idea they set them out in the wild also. For the small visitors area the entrance fee is pretty high 100 pesos, but it is all for the butterflies and dragonflies that live there. So I was told.

Very environmental aware sanctuary that actually also sets butterflies and dragonflies free in the wild. Beautiful visit for butterfly lovers or for those that want to contribute to a better healthier eco system in the Philippines. Don;t skipp the donation box! :-)

A little out of the way, easy to get to if you visit the water falls first (they are fantastic). We spent an hour here. The Butterflys are housed in a netted area, packed with plants and cooling misters. The host / manager will stay with you, explaining the system and the varietys you see. Not a wide variety, buy...
