We drove there at the night of July 20. It was the typical evening of summer, but for the people who spend 7/24 in the big city, here is the place we can see a full view of stars only by raising our heads. They are so close to us. At that moment, I just wanted to lie down and stare at the stary sky, enjoying the tranquility~
Being far away from the noise and material life of big city, it's the place you can roam and have the snapshot of every special moment you get. The people there are nice and friendly. It's not like other ancient cities where you can see a lot of visitors walking on the road, feeling more like seeing people but not the scenery. Every house there is the inn you may want to stay, but you make the choice by yourself.
The ticket is 20 yuan (RMB) / person. There are four gates in four directions of the town and visitors need to get to the town by boat (1 yuan/ person). On the main street, there are laterns in Chinese Zodiac. There's an ancient academic shool in the town, but it's for visiting now.
We had a very big breakfast: rice noodles (very good, fresh and smooth), zhongzi (with pork and minced beans), congee and chopped local pickled cabbage), fried buns (made by sticky rice, with the filling of red minced beans), local special tea ( tea made from hawthorn leaves, go with fried rice and deep fried tiny buns)~really a lot

Danzhou Ancient City is a unique island community on the road from Sanjiang to Liuzhou in north-central Guangxi. I stopped off during a three-day bike trip through the region. I was there on a weekday, so travelers were fewer than otherwise would be. The locals are eager to chat away about the unique history of the island, which s God because the official tourist office at the ferry launch from which you take the boats to the island is not in the least bit helpful. Great food options on the island, by the way.

Danzhou island is pretty for relax. But try to stay between Monday too Friday because there is empty. Weekends is full and very noisy.
