The boat rental was a blast, the staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. We were able to contact them by phone to ask detailed questions and also made the reservation online. The parking on site was a great benefit and we were able to easily carry our things from the car to the boat. The staff explained the navigation and the rules, as well as how to operate the boat. The boat told us how much gas we were using and the staff told us the price per liter before we left so we would know how much it would cost us as we travelled around the lake. The gas is paid for in cash after you are done, so ensure you have at least 50 euro in cash before you arrive. They also say to arrive at least 15 minutes beforehand and I recommend you take this into account to maximize your time on the water. We booked 4 hours and could have easily spent more time on the water. I would definitely recommend them and would do it again!

We had a fantastic day. Payment and website was easy. We turned up on the day and had two helpful people explain to us the contract, lake layout including rules/things to see and then someone else showed us how to use the boat. They encouraged us to take photos of the propeller which is always nice because it really makes you feel like they aren't going to try rip you off with the deposit. We had an absolutely amazing 6 hours touring the lake and the boat was so easy to use and so comfortable to be in with padded front and large bench at the rear. Cabin underneath was handy for storage. When we got back to the rental yard parking was easy as we had been shown earlier how to park and they were there to greet us and help guide us. A quick check of the propeller and we were told there and then the deposit was safe. The fuel had to be paid for separately but the boat counted in 0.1L increments the amount of fuel used and the cost per litre was only slightly more than the local garages so we were very happy. Thank you

Very easy booking process online. Booked the smallest boat for our family of four for 4 hours. Was greeted at the English speaking reception with a short brief and ID checks. Paid a deposit for the boat and was given a map of the lake and recommended spots to check out/swim. Walked over to the dock for a very quick brief on how the boat works. Very simple but a few bits to remember. Spent four hours touring around the lake. We went as far south as Bellagio and then headed back up the eastern side of the lake. Your are required to to stay 150m from the shoreline and mooring up is not recommended but doable depending on your boat handling skills. Took the boat back with a few minutes to spare, be aware you have to pay for the fuel you have used in Cash on return of the boat total cost was around £250 for 4 hours including Fuel.

Fantastic day on the lake. The absolute highlight of our time in Lake Como. From Australia we stayed in the Town of Como Lago, this rental is in Dongo, the North end of the lake so you need to plan your day around the ferry trip. I just called Newton boat rental, English speaking reception and crew were very helpful.
1) call newton boat hire and book a boat. You don’t need a boat license for 40hp or less, an ICC boat license and book any boat + water ski gear!
2) go to a ferry ticket office and get a fast ferry ticket to Dongo , leave at 09;00 and get to Dongo at 10:53.
You can get a ferry from any of the main towns around the lake, and it will be quicker than from Como.
NOTE: buy a ticket for your trip back when you get to Dongo, not sure why but we could only get a one way ticket from Como.
3) Newton boat rental will send someone by boat to pick you up at the ferry drop off point.
We went in July, cruising all the sights and towns, restaurants come and pick you up from the moorings out the front, Reception at the boat rentals gave us a map and the locations of good places to stop, and swimming in the bay around the point of Abbazia di Piona straight across the lake from Dongo was perfect
The boat was as new clean and in mint condition.
Highly recommended, a perfect way to explore the lake, best day of our trip. I don’t write reviews often but this place deserves this, I wish I had this information to make planning our day easier because it’s completely worth it.

We rented a boat for a couple of hours this past week and are very happy we chose Newton. Their service was very professional and friendly, all of the staff spoke english (helpful as Italian isn't in our wheelhouse), and the boat was in very good condition. We were greeted warmly on the dock after handling the paperwork at checkin, were given a quick introduction to the workings of the boat, and off we went for two wonderful hours on the lake. If you have the option, we recommend booking first thing in the morning - at 9am, we had the lake all to ourselves for a long while. If needed, they have onsite parking, a bathroom, & vending machines.

Excellent Experience! The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. The boats are new and clean and well maintained. The restaurants they recommended on the lake had breathtaking views and excellent food. They have people to help you dock at these locations as well.Overall an excellent experience. PS: you need an ICC boating license to rent a boat with anything over 40hp. However you don’t need anything more than that to get around this beautiful lake. The swimming was awesome and the villas up and down the lake were cool to see.

We booked a boat online to sail on the Como lake . At arrival at the location at Dongo, we were quickly serviced (enough parking space available) and got explanation where to go on the lake (and where not to go). At the dock, we were awaited by employees explaining how to operate the boat. Easy!
Sailing on the Como lake is fun. Lovely to swim wherever you want, and great views from a different angle! We loved it.
Please pay attention: cost for fuel is to be paid in cash. Although this is mentioned on a form on the counter, we were not informed in advance (and we did not see the form...). Luckily we brought cash.

After reading reviews about boat rental, I had chosen Newton an was not disappointed. The rental itself was smooth and the boats were clean. We received a good explanation. We hired a boat for 4 hours and gave us enough time to travel to Argegno and all other sites at the lake

We have been renting boats from Fabio and Cristina ever since they established the business in Dongo back in 2001. They offer a nice variety of boats (different sizes and different HP - with or without license), notably the largest fleet on Lake Como. The boats are always kept clean, well maintained and regularly replaced. Many extras like water skis or wakeboards are offered. The team has been very stable over the years and we meet many familiar faces every time. Their son is into the business as well, in the meantime. The family and the team are very service-oriented, supportive, correct and generous.

Rented a nice boat for the afternoon. Super friendly people, contract in our own language, clear and good information about the boat and some areas on lake Como where one must be carefull (rocks etc). The boat shows the fuelconsumption in liters so you know exactly how much you are using. I would recommend this rental to everybody!
