This little medieval village is a fraction of Dervio, a little town on the Eastern bank of Como Lake. While you stroll through its alleys and look at the ancient homes, you will feel like you’ve been taken back to the Middle Ages. It’s nice also to visit with children!

The place that you can not forget and want to return again and again..

The beautiful and lovely place in a cosy little medieval town Corenno Plinio. Absolutely brilliant hospitality, thanks to Raffaella, the most warm and friendly hostess I've ever met. Clean and convinient apartment, fully equipped with all necessary, a fridge with a week's worth of food, large stock of coffee capsules, etc. A great lake view, just in few steps from a small harbour with a small private beach. Quite and lovely place to relax from the daily bustle.

Stunning little town is a pure treasure for adventurous discoverer: ancient narrow streets, lovely bay and beach, warm hearted inhabitants, church and a cup of an aromatic espresso in a local bar made our morning and charged with positive energy for the whole day! A blessed town 🌞

Well worth the walk.
Jul 2018
We decided to walk to Corenno Plinio from Dervio. The first two thirds of the walk was along the lakeside. The last third was a bit perilous along the side of the road. Not an arduous trek though. Corenno Plinio was well worth the walk. The old square with the church, the castle, the houses and the harbour are delightful. The kids had a swim off the shingly beach. We’re considering a return visit.

Well worth the trip down to the medieval harbour which is quite stunning. There's a little beach down there too. It's so pretty and the views, like everywhere on Como, just breathtaking.

long and steep staircases to lake view
Apr 2016 • Family
Not really worth your while going down (and then up) long and steep staircases (especially with kids / equipment) see a view of the lake which (although admittedly beautiful) is not unlike others in the area.

An ancient hamlet in Corenno Plinio and its fascinating castle
Sep 2014 • Family
Corenno Plinio is a fraction of Dervio which has about 350 inhabitants.

In addition to its fascinating location on the Lake, Corenno Plinio is characterized by the presence of:

- the 14th century Castle of the Andreani

- San Tommaso di Canterbury parish consecrated by Roberto Visconti in 1356; inside several frescoes dated back in 14th century

- the Funeral Arches of the Andreani Counts (feudal lord of the area).

Corenno Plinio is located along the path of the Wayfarer's Trail (Sentiero del Viandante), along the stretch of road from Dervio to Colico. For rurther information visit the following link: http://www.dervio.org/vedere/index.htm
