We had booked this trip before leaving the UK, but on our chosen morning, there was torrential rain, with thunder and lightening. We emailed to cancel, and rebooked for two days later. The weather wasn't particularly good then, but at least it was dry. It...More

A real highlight to visit this family home and garden and to hear the story of the early and present occupation and families. It was a structured visit but I didn't feel rushed and it was pleasant to linger on the terrace with wine, oil...More

Recently visited this island as an excursion sold by Inghams as a four hour trip, but we were back in our hotel in Gardone after only two and a half hours (including the boat trips). Whilst we appreciated the beauty of the island, we were...More

Amazingly beautiful and a perfect wedding location. The boat ride isn't too easy to get on and off but they do help you. The walk from the boat to where the ceremony is held is through the gardens and takes a few minutes with steps...More

For the last 6 years every June we are at lake Garda, but somehow we never stumbled upon this gem. This island and the villa is just out of this world. It's still partially inhabited by genuine offsprings of the original owners, that for me...More

Between April and October the Borghese Cavazza family open the island to private tours. Thoroughly recommended -it was a lovely way to spend a day. We booked via the hotel paying a 4 euro deposit, and were picked up as part of a group at...More

Took a half day boat trip to Isola del Garda, and was taken aback by the beauty of the place - Italian and English garden, massive terraces, and in the centre the highly impressive home of the Carvazza family - a Venetian neo-Gothic style villa,...More

Came here for a wedding and thought the venue, staff and service was excellent. Food was delicious and good choice of wine. The only thing that let this venue down is inside the building (its creepy, lots of dolls and prams). Otherwise the exterior is...More

The island although open to tourists is still privately owned so I should imagine that you have to take the official taxi boat over. Best check with your tour guide or hotel to be sure
