There are NO rabbits, not even one… We asked upon arrival where the rabbits were, and the waiter told us “nowhere”… its basically a scam.
So our kids were very disappointed.
In middle of summer this is a very touristic island. And actually not more than a part of the camping which it belongs to. The restaurant is more a snackbar but fine for ice cream and a snack.
Only funny thing was that you can walk through the water to the island from this camping on the mainland.
But my advice; skip it.

We learned about this island via social media, which at first glance, through photos and videos, looked beautiful. Once we get there, they make us pay entry at €10 per person which in my opinion is too expensive for what it offers. They don't even allow you to bring food from home. They force you to buy at the little bar on the island with prices that are too exaggerated. One thing that, if a family of 4 had to decide to spend a day there, I think they would refuse at that price.
Also because at that price one expects that at least the toilets are SHINING, always clean and fragrant, but in reality they turned out to be a disappointment, with dirt and a bad smell.
CLEAN THE BATHROOMS! Having said that, it's a nice island, but if I were to go back, no.

The island is still the same but this year the entrance costs DOUBLE, €10.00 instead of 5. Absurd!!! The price increase is only reported at the entrance and obviously the answer for this 50% increase is "it's written at the entrance", in friendly tones to say the least. Thanks, now that I've already paid for the taxi and I'm here, what should I do to go back??
The last time I set foot there, and like me almost all the people who are here today.
Congratulations, keep your island of non-existent rabbits and try to be a little friendlier to people.

We went to this island accessible by a boat-taxi service for a fee (3€ each) (children do not pay). Reached the place, in a few minutes, the disappointment was having to pay the entrance of 10 € each (when on the site it says 5 €), with the prohibition of being able to bring packed lunches (obligatorily using the kiosk), the chairs are extra and for a fee of 6 € each.
The island looks like a campsite, too small and uncomfortable to swim in.

We walked along the harbor and then along the water to the island. The water was knee-deep and it was quite pleasant to walk through (especially in temperatures of 38 degrees). We saved ourselves the €10 entrance fee per person for the day and took advantage of the opportunity to use the bar for an hour for free, where drinks were available at a reasonable price.

I have been visiting the island for many years, when it was still inhabited by bunnies, who roamed everywhere, especially late, when most people left.
I like to reach it on foot, but there is a ferry that connects the island to Porto Torchio that passes frequently.
This year there has been a considerable increase in rates, you pay 10€ per person to be able to lay the towel in the island.
The island is served by bathrooms, definitely dirty, people are really rude, there is a shower and a well stocked bar. You can rent deck chairs and umbrellas.
The water is spotless.

We went to the island by boat (3€ per person) but on arrival we have to pay an entrance fee of 10€ per person to access the island. You can optionally spend an hour at the bar without admission but no more. It would be nice to clarify this detail before boarding.

Catch a boat from Manerba Porto Torcchio for cheap fares (2.50€ one way). Upon arrival you will be charged a small entrance fee (5€ a day). The island is tiny but super quaint and is predominately visited by locals for tanning and bathing. You will encounter families and couples. There is a small food stall, toilet facilities and plenty of loungers. There are beautiful plants and lovely trees that offer shade during the worst heat of the day. Come here if you want to spend your day swimming and relaxing and best bring your own food and plenty of water.

We just attempted to cross - don't do it if your wading in water up to your waist! We realised too late that the best time to cross is when the water is low (not sure when that might be) and you can see the passage across.
The water temperature was ok, but we got lost and ended up on a precipice into the lake! There was no directions at the beach as to where to head, so we had to turn back. The water was up to our shoulders at this point! With three children in tow, we returned to the beach :(

A magic island, perfect for all the family but meal was not very good.
Our best Italian dinner was at Da Rino at Porto torchio.

Quanto tempo ci si impiega se si decide di andare a piedi anzichè in taxi-boat?

X riuscire l attraversata a piedi, in che periodo mi consigliate? Grazie
Written April 25, 2020
Can anyone tell me how to get to the island in May? We tried yesterday and were told the boats don’t run at the weekend. We’re going to try tomorrow but don’t want another wasted journey!
Where do boats go from? How do you get a ticket and what time do they open?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Ciao
