The island looks lovely sitting in the lake and why not hop off a ferry to see it, but basically it is just the ferry embarkation area, with tourist stalls, and one main road along the centre, again full of gift/souvenir shops or eateries. It is picturesque, there is a little church, and it is pleasant to stroll around but... More

Isola dei Pescatori (Isola Superiore) is worth the ride to from either Baveno or Stresa. It comprises a nice unpretentious island which is covered mainly by a fishing village having nice quaint cafes and not to be missed a parish church dating to the 9th century. The ride out from Stresa will give you an opportunity to stop at Isola... More

The small island is definitely touristy but it would be hard to beat lunch on this island on a sunny day, no wind and with the Alps covered in snow as a background. Choose a good restaurant, the location, experience and food are worth it.

We caught the ferry from Stresa where we were staying and went to Isola dei Pescatori for lunch. We wandered up and down the narrow little streets and had lunch at Ristorante Italia at one end of the island, looking over the lake towards the snow-capped Alps. There are lots & lots of restaurants to choose from and lots of... More

Isola Pescatori (also known as Isola Superior) is the smallest of the Borromean Islands in Lake Maggiore and is easily accessesed, as are the others, by boats that run frequently from Stresa on the lake shore. Pescatori is essentially a little fishing village of narrow stepped streets although the vast majority of the buildings are now restaurants and shops selling... More

Good place for an hour's wander - but very busy at lunchtime when most tourists stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants on their way between Isola Madre and Isola Bella. Unless you intend eating here (we didn't so can't comment) avoid lunchtimes and take in the pretty houses and church in the morning or late afternoon when... More

Lots of restuarants to choose from with wonderful sea view. Do take your time to stroll along the beach and avoid picking the 1st restuarant when you disembark. Definitely worth visiting as it is only a <5 mins boad ride from isola bella. There are nice benches for everyone to relax and enjoy the scenery with a cup of beer... More

To be honest, the Isola dei Pescatori appears to me to be the most expendable of the "classic" or "standard sights" in the Lago Maggiore. Yes, there are two or three splendid ristoranti, but apart from that there is not much to do on this island. The island itself would be a delightful place, were it not for the tourist... More

the island has good views and quaint little alleys with expensive shops. A little beach is all there is to sun and laze around. As we were not interested in either one of the activities we were quite bored by island.
