In the beautiful town of Caldas da Rainha you have a parc, where you can relax in nature around the lake with the beautiful swans., families can enjoy a quiet afternoon .. children can play while parents enjoy a coffee or even a glass of wine.. I really enjoyed the walk in the parc..

Parque D.Carlos is an amazing place with unattended old-looking Castle, especially in the evening when light is mild and being close to the Castle is just a magic.
You can boat in summer on a lake around white and black swans, ducks, turtles. You can have amazing Galao coffee afterwards in the nearest coffee place.
Park is very well maintained with a lot of different trees and blooming flowers. Kids can enjoy the playground. Adults may play tennis. Very beautiful place to come.

This park is a gem and it is clear the locals take pride in this park. The gardens are well cared and there is evidence for support of mental health issues from art amongst the trees. Thete are specific areas for young children. The bars are attractive and well looked after.

Old style park -- we can just imagine the queen promenading through, or riding her carriage. It has wide allées and a swan lake and ducks and statues and flowers and huge trees and sidewalk cafés, and a deserted gothic-looking hospital building. What more could you want?

We stayed in the Sana Hotel opposite this park and to be able to simply cross the road into this park was a lovely surprise! It is almost a secret place, no crowds, but such a fabulous, quiet, romantic setting for a walk, a picnic or just to get outside and breathe. A ´Must See´ place.

My youngest daughter loved it here. Feeding the ducks, swans and seeing the black swan was the highlight. Very relaxing atmosphere. Clean public washrooms. We visited twice.

The park is a great place to stroll around there are interpretation boards for some of the flora and fauna mostly in Portuguese but Google translate gave us the gist. The bar is good and a good place in the evening as the town doesn’t have any bars to speak of that are open in the evening. At night it is well lit and has a safe feel to it. There were families quite late into the night hunting Pokemon’s (apparently)

Sorry for the late answer, normally it is open (but regarding the boats, I can't answer: it also depends on the weather), for the boats you always have to pay... I believe on the website CMCaldasdaRainha you can find a link. regards
