This is the most beautiful beach that I’ve seen in Portugal. The lagoon (lagoa do Óbidos) features clear, calm water and a huge beach. The ocean beach is bigger and boasts stunning views of the coast.

This Portugal Coast Beach boasts beautiful views & is the perfect place to spend a day with kids , solo or as a couple !

Escape the rat race of life & be in total relaxation 10 min from the city of Caldas da Rainha!

The beach also has a lagoon area which makes safe swimming with kids or for the whole family .

A beach shack restaurant is there too to grab a bite or refreshing drink !

Great beach, tents available for a lousy 10 euro’s, if not to shelter you from the sun definitely from the wind. Nice waves and if these are too strong like sometimes (red flag) there is a lagoon with quieter water (although you need to be aware of the current) .

Have a coffee at cafe north and lunch at coco’s and you have created yourself the perfect day at the beach.

Good place to go for a drink food and walk along the beach. The beach is spectacular and worth a walk along the water edge or the boardwalk. However because it’s popularity during summer this area is best avoided as it gets overcrowded on warm sunny days

It's very easy to get there from Caldas da Rainha and there are a number of routes.
The first beach, by the parking lots, is always packed with families, given the calmer and warm waters.
The ocean beach is wilder and freezing cold, with some very restricted bathing areas, due to the very strong undercurrent and the hidden rocks.

Great waves, miles of golden sands, quite lagoon and plenty of restaurants. Not too busy, even in July. Perfect.

Massive space, with a lagoon and the main surf beach. Warning: the tide is VERY strong! As a result only a small portion of the beach is managed by the lifeguards. They will whistle if you stray too far outside the patrol zones! Very clean beach, unlike the UK people tend to pick up after themselves. Good bars and cafes line the beach. There are a couple of fish restaurants but they are pricey. Great resort.

On one side you have the wild ocean, the other is the lagoa (lagoon) which is perfect for swimming or paddling. Lots of beach cafes to refuel and plenty of ice-cream to stay cool.

This beach is stunningly beautiful and the sand is soft and clean. It is really well maintained and served by lifeguards and good beach front cafes. The sea is clear but pretty cold but the surf is such that it is amber or red flagged for most of the time. Both flags means no swimming. That said there is the lagoon on the inside which has safe swimming areas and is great for kids as there is little of no depth. Some parts of it have a tidal flow but there are lifeguards nearby. The size of the beach is such that you can get your own space far away from others. A windbreak and umbrellas help and they are really cheap to buy or you can hire beach 'huts'. This is one of the best beaches we have ever visited and you can watch the surf for hours.
There is free parking on the promenade but get there early.
