We did the Bicaz Gorges and Red Lake tour. It was really amazing experience, very well organised, the tour guide Istvan was very friendly, he knows the paths very well and shared a lot of interesting information during the hike. The tours are adapted to your level of physical condition, which is great!

We had a great offroad experience with Carpathian Escapes. Our host Istvan was an amazing driver and guide, giving us all the details of the places we visited. The area is quite amazing (the hills, the views, the people). It was really worth traveling from Bucharest to try this experience.

My wife and I took an e bike adventure around Saint Anna Lake and surrounding areas. Our guide was Istvan who has supreme knowledge in every area . . history, geography, nature including all the animals and plants. What a fantastic day. He kindly took photos and videos throughout the day which are wonderful memories. The bikes were high quality and easy to use. I would urge anybody to use Carpathian Escapes, best in the business.

A perfect organisation from the beginning till the end. Super friendly and professional guide. If you choose them, you won’t be disappointed. Absolutely recommended! You can choose variety of different programs, so I’m sure, that you will find, what you are looking for.

They had provided an excellent service. They took so much interest to make my dreams come true, see the brown bears in the wild. Also they planned other options, a lot of options, for us during our wonderful time in Transylvania. I recomend you this company, very professional.

My husband and I went on a private bear tour, led by Almos, and it was one of the most spectacular experiences of our lives! Almos is a kind being, as well as highly knowledgeable and skilled in this area; thus, we immediately felt comfortable with him as our guide. We also learned a lot from him about the area, the forest, the bears, as well as other animals in that region. We got to see 3 bears and in one of the most beautiful settings one could imagine. The entire experience was unique and breathtaking: being in this magnificent forest, anticipating the bears' arrival nearby the hide and watching these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. When it was time to leave the hide, the bear seemed to want to stay near us and continue eating. After Almos attempted to get the bear to leave, but without success, we exited the hide with the bear about 50 feet from us. There was no sense of danger at all. And we walked back through the forest to the car, with the bear following us slowly and calmly. What an amazing, wild & peaceful experience...
Logistically, the booking was pretty easy, though we could not pay with credit card and had to transfer money for the tour via a bank transfer. Eniko, who managed our booking, was always professional and quick to respond to questions via email. We will definitely go again! Thank you Carpathian Escapes!

Lovely horseriding in a great nature and surroundings! A lot of wild animals to see. Good food, nice people. It was so worth it! :)

The help that we received from Eniko was excellent. She connected us with the tour we wanted and with accommodations that were close by. The riding experience was exactly what I was looking for and the outfit was top notch. They took great care of their horses and their clients. The emails were responses and in English for us non Romanian types. I will definitely use their services again when I visit. 5 Stars!!!!

Hello, my partner and 65 years old know how to ride horses and ask for information and prices about horse riding between the villages for 7 days. We haven't decided on a date yet. From what date to what date is recommended?

Thank you for your question. If you are an advanced rider, I would recommend you Red Lake Trail with Lipizzaner horses, all information about the trail you can find on our website including the dates as well.
If you are a beginner or intermediate rider, I would recommend you the star ride programme with Icelandic horses. For this programme we don't have guaranteed departure rates for 2020 set at the moment.

How long, in terms of miles, is the Varghis Gorge Hike in Romania?

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your question. The Varghis Gorge is about 2.5 km long, but not its length, but its various caves and the lcoal stories linked to it make it an interesting place.
