About
We are craft cidermakers, trading from our working farm just outside of Langport. You will be made most welcome to visit us at the "shack"where you you can simply come and sit down for a drink or two from our fully stocked bar with something for everyone. If you are unable to stay for a while, we have a shop where you are able to sample and buy from our Range of Award Winning Ciders, Apple Juice, Cider Vingear, Locally made Jams, Marmalade, Chutney, Honey, Various Cheeses, Eggs and other seasonal produce. We have recently opened a cafe/bar which serves delicious home made cakes, bacon baps and coffee daily from 10am and delicious lunches including cheese or ham ploughman’s or panini’s, we have a fully licensed bar which is open daily also.

- Paul G1 contributionTo be experienced. Wonderful setting eat in our out. And the cherry on the top, is the excellent cider made onsite!Did here is always spot on. Lovely friendly fun staff. It hit a new high for me today 18/03/24. Not normally a soup man. But had the 'chunky soup with ham, potatoes and mixed veg. Wow! Exceptional. - James / Marie HWest Coker, United Kingdom48 contributionsCider and a lot moreSaw the sign on the main road and decided to call in and we are so pleased we did. Excellent cider farm with a small farm shop and a lovely cafe with lots of seating both indoors and outside. Plenty of choice on the Menu, we both had eggs on toast and was well cooked and really reasonably priced. This place has live music occasionally and pizza and burger nights. Seems really popular. Friendly and efficient service too.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 26, 2024

Called earlier in week to buy some cider and served by Jim. Got a tour of the set up and some samples before buying. Jim was the perfect host and after we went into coffee shop he popped in to have another chat. Draught cider is really good and Kingston Black bottled cider I cannot recommend highly enough

What an amazing hidden gem! Luckily we were staying local so went on a recommendation but really wish we had gone sooner. Staff are so friendly and helpful and was also lovely to talk to Jim. Such a wide selection of ciders as well as other local produce and delicious things and lovely souvenirs. Breakfast was very reasonably priced and delicious and staff very helpful and knowledgeable about the ciders. Would highly recommend visiting and also the cider liqueur. The food menu looked fabulous and if we return to the area again, we would definitely return.

A great find. Signposted to a large car park, bright buildings and an inviting counter area. Many drinks, light snacks (all day breakfast roll GF gorgeous) large shop, buy cider and cheese etc. Quirky Somerset at it's best.

Lovely cider and drinks venue but no coffee machine, just weakfish instant coffee? Really? Poached eggs were absolutely solid , toast hard and cold. I struggled to cut it with a knife and fork. This breakfast literally stuck in my throat. So disappointed 🥲
Maybe I should have said something at the time but how could you have improved on the coffee?

I have visited Somerset several times a year for the last few years (my daughter lives in Bridgwater) and I always go to Jims Shack for some Gold Rush cider. There is always a great welcome and good chat with Jim. My daughter usually picks up a couple of casks when she visits me in Northumberland. Gold Rush is the only cider I buy now, mixed to my taste (medium to dry) and I'll continue to visit Bere Cider Company for the foreseeable future!
Be careful with the 'tasting' if you're driving!

What a find! After having been recommended to visit Jim's Cider Shack at the Bere cider company by a friend from Cheltenham, we called in, not only once , but thrice during our holiday in Somerset. Owners Jim and Mary were lovely to meet and whilst they went on their holidays we were looked after royally by both Rebecca and Jen. Such lovely, friendly ladies with such good humour and conversation. We loved you both. Excellent food, excellent ciders and excellent company. We look forward to returning to The Bere Cider Company not only to renew our desire for the ciders but also to reacquaint ourselves with the most delightful staff and the the wonderful homemade food.

During our trip to Somerset we decided to visit a cider manufacturer and this one topped the reviews and now we know why. Jim and his lovely wife were most welcoming and we were told the history of Bere Cider. We sampled their products which is like the cider I remember before the modern stuff was pumped out into the pubs and supermarkets! They also sell cheese, butter and other grocery bits. They have tables outside where we safely enjoyed a bottle of cider in the sun. A great place to visit if you are in the area and no need to book.

Turned up here as it was on my list of things to do whilst staying in the area for my husbands birthday as he loves cider and i thought it would make a great surprise. I wasn't disappointed it is a great find. Had the pleasure of meeting Jim, what a great character he is so polite and friendly, it was fun with his chat and tour round. Hubby tried 2 cider specials and bought a 5 litre tub with other stuff coupled with lovely lunch in bar next door to the shop.
They have an amazing function room and hold motorbike night every Wednesday evening. Wishing we were closer so we could attend to with our local bike club too. Staff great. Food great, loos great, venue/buildings are great, full of history, well worth a visit.
