About
We are craft cidermakers, trading from our working farm just outside of Langport. You will be made most welcome to visit us at the "shack"where you you can simply come and sit down for a drink or two from our fully stocked bar with something for everyone. If you are unable to stay for a while, we have a shop where you are able to sample and buy from our Range of Award Winning Ciders, Apple Juice, Cider Vingear, Locally made Jams, Marmalade, Chutney, Honey, Various Cheeses, Eggs and other seasonal produce. We have recently opened a cafe/bar which serves delicious home made cakes, bacon baps and coffee daily from 10am and delicious lunches including cheese or ham ploughman’s or panini’s, we have a fully licensed bar which is open daily also.

What an amazing place!...so friendly and accomodating. My partner bought some cider after having a mini tasting session, the owner and staff are so helpful. We loved it here so much we stayed for food and drinks. It's such a quirky little place and definitely worth visiting

Delightful find! Somerset at it's best.

A great find. Signposted to a large car park, bright buildings and an inviting counter area. Many drinks, light snacks (all day breakfast roll GF gorgeous) large shop, buy cider and cheese etc. Quirky Somerset at it's best.

Excellent cider, friendly staff, great setup
Apr 2021
I feel obliged to leave a review of Bere Cider because it was so lovely. The two women who sold me my cider were really friendly and warm, and very knowledgeable. I also met Jim himself, who again was a really lovely friendly person. The setup there is great: shop where you can buy draft cider (discount for bringing your own container) or bottled and all sorts of other things (honey, jams, vinegar, mugs); an outside seating area for enjoying a pint or two; and a (very cheap) bar. Oh and for anybody concerned, it felt very covid-safe (clean, nicely spaced, out in the open, staff wearing masks). Really lovely place. Go and visit. Did I mention their draft dry cider is excellent? I think that’s everything.

Lovely afternoon out
Oct 2020 • Couples
During our trip to Somerset we decided to visit a cider manufacturer and this one topped the reviews and now we know why. Jim and his lovely wife were most welcoming and we were told the history of Bere Cider. We sampled their products which is like the cider I remember before the modern stuff was pumped out into the pubs and supermarkets! They also sell cheese, butter and other grocery bits. They have tables outside where we safely enjoyed a bottle of cider in the sun. A great place to visit if you are in the area and no need to book.

An amazing find
Sep 2020 • Friends
This place was like finding a golden needle in a haystack! We found it from a quick google search, but had driven past earlier in the day and commented on the little cider barrel advert, if we had any sense of direction we would have gone back from the cider barrel alone! The owner was the friendliest gentleman, gave us tasters of everything we was going to buy even without tasting! The ciders were delicious and satisfied my very northern tastes, as was the cheese and pork scratchings! I would definitely recommend this as a stop if you’re in or around the area! I would also definitely recommend buying the ice cider- it is wonderful!

Cider tasting
Aug 2020 • Family
What a find! The cider was great and there’s lager and wine available too! We sat just inside an old hay barn and enjoyed a cold drink chatting with the friendly owners. An authentic and charming gem, so glad we stumbled across it! Good luck with the upcoming season!

An amazing find for Real Cider fans
Jul 2020
What an amazing find! Passing through Langport, Somerset early afternoon, we came across a sign for a Cider Shack and being devoted cider fans couldn’t pass on the opportunity to check it out. Fantastic place!, Very attractive rural buildings, great parking and the shack itself was so authentic. ( containing 6 large cider barrels,) We were instantly offered a taste by the very friendly and welcoming host Jim and had we not been driving to a further destination, it would have been a great place to pass a couple of hours.
We bought a 5 litre box of medium, taken straight from the barrel and a bottle of ice cider ,never had that before, but having been given a taste, it was a winner.
If you like Real Cider and a Real Traditional Authentic Atmosphere this place is a must.

Fantastic Cider
Jul 2020
Stumbled across this gem of a cider farm last week. Not only was the welcome warm and friendly but the tasting samples were more than generous. The cider is amazing and they do a after dinner drink called Ice Cider, highly recommended. I will be returning despite living over 4 hours away.

My Favourite "Must Visit" when I'm in Somerset
Feb 2020
I have visited Somerset several times a year for the last few years (my daughter lives in Bridgwater) and I always go to Jims Shack for some Gold Rush cider. There is always a great welcome and good chat with Jim. My daughter usually picks up a couple of casks when she visits me in Northumberland. Gold Rush is the only cider I buy now, mixed to my taste (medium to dry) and I'll continue to visit Bere Cider Company for the foreseeable future!
Be careful with the 'tasting' if you're driving!
