Great for family

Amazing beach and great for family.
Really clear water, calm water makes it excellent for swimming, kids playing and paddle boarding.
Amazing spot and well worth it.
The only downside is a bit of a walk from the car-park

Pretty but crowded in summer.
Jul 2020
Largeish beach with rocky areas each side so you can snorkel. small cafe - which the service was not good at and no hand sanitiser and they did not wash tables in between people !!
Weekends in the summer it is VERY busy and if you take he car you have to pay for parking - it is quite a long walk from the carpark to the beach.

It is pretty but prefer out of season. Worth a walk around the area also - dont just stay on the sand.

A very nice sandy beach in Costa Brava
Feb 2020 • Solo
Platja del Castell is one of the some beaches in the surroundings of Palamós, in Costa Brava Region, in Girona Province. It is included in Round Way (Camí de Ronda) around Costa Brava. Really it is a very nice location to come in summer to bath and sunbath, or in winter (I came here in February), when you can walk around this path without hot days. Also, close to this beach, there is an archeological Iberian site and wonderful views of the coast. Salut i cuideu-vos!

This is an excellent beach and surrounding Nature reserve. Less busy than La Fosca and Palamos it is well worth a visit.

Quiet Beach in Off Season
Oct 2019
A small crescent beach, nice sand. Old Iberian ruins off to one side and start of a hiking trail to the north. Parked in the close lot, there is a large overflow lot a little farther away. "No dog" signs ignored by local who let their hounds loose off leash, Water still warm enough for a dip in early October.

A pleasant surprise ☀️ 🌊 🏖
Aug 2019 • Couples
A pleasant surprise after a short walk from our hotel (La Malcontenta). The Walk was a little bit longer than we told but it was totally worth it. The beautiful crystal clear water and white sand beach at the end of the short walk was totally worth it. Highly recommended! And be sure to check out the friendly “diner” on the beach as well where the people are friendly, helpful and welcoming! Bravo Plaje de Castell, Costa Brava! ♥️☀️🌊🇪🇸 🏖 🍻

Endless beach
Aug 2019 • Couples
Lovely beach that goes for miles with nice soft golden sand and warm 28C sea temperature. Plenty of cafes and tapas bars along side for a drink or a snack. Could easily be a day on the beach.

Nice beach
Jul 2019 • Family
The previous review is very clearly of another location, because this is a beach with a single, albeit large, beach bar/restaurant. There are certainly no shops to browse! Please, Trip Advisor reviewers, if you insist on adding reviews to help others, make the effort to ensure you are adding your review to the correct location.

This beach has a large car park with a 5 Euro daily rate, and a five minute walk then brings you out at a generous sized beach with ample room, even when the car park is full.

Clean golden sand, with crystal clear water - pebbles for the first few feet and then steeply pitches onto more sand. Not great paddling for toddlers, but perfect for everyone else.

Decent sized bar/restaurant selling a good range of snacks at surprisingly good prices given the captive audience.

Well worth a visit.
