Splendid place

Really fantastic tour on bike. You can rent bikes on the spot. You have to get a ticket at the visitors center, also for a private tour on bike. Go early, tickets limited to a 100 a day. You can book online, but I did not manage. Problem with the site probably.

Thanks delagioventu for your review. The bike tour can only be booked online if it takes place the following day and not the same day. See you soon

The most beguiling experiences on the peninsula
Apr 2019
For us this stretch was the most beguiling on the Italian peninsula. The landscape ranges from salt marshes, sand dunes and open plains to Rocky Mountains. Wading birds flock to the marshes. Cattle and horses graze in the open fields.

Unforgettable biking experience
Jul 2019
We rented bikes and went with the recommended route. It's not at all demanding (also for the kids), the most difficult aspect being not enough shade on the way ;-) One of my best memories from the whole of Tuscany.
You can as well make it a full day trip if you include the beach.

Thank you for your review ramonae431, we are happy that you enjoyed one of the beaches of the Maremma Park, probably Principina a Mare or Marina di Alberese. Unfortunately it is forbidden to build huts with woods, but many do this anyway. The Park is also crossed by many itineraries on foot or by bike, which can be visited after purchasing the ticket at the Alberese visitor center. Come back to visit us We are waiting for you!

Nice natural beach
Aug 2018
This beach is in the middle of a protected area. The number of people that are allowed that come by car are limited. So I would advise to take the bus instead. There is a good connection. At least in the high season. There is a lot of driftwood on the beach but that is part of it's charm. Visitors are creative and using this to build shelters to protect them against the sun as there is very little natural shade. The last part before you enter the beach goes trough woods. I was wondering how fast you can get out of there if there is a fire as this is not or very bad indicated.

Authentic and one of Italys best beaches. If you like nature and aren't afraid to walk a bit on an unserviced beach, this is for you...

A walk through the park
Jul 2018 • Couples
We visit the park every summer when we come to Tuscany and have done all the trails, mostly on our own. This year we came in July and couldn't go in on our own because of the risk for wild fires. We had to go with a group and the guide. At first we were dissapointed, but as soon as we started the walk were so pleased to have chosen to go. Our guide Christina was very knowledgable, informative and gave us so many intereting informations! The group was nice and we had a really great time.

Hiking in the National Park
Jul 2017 • Couples
It's beautiful. Too bad we could only hike in the park with a guide because there was a risk of fire at that moment (June 2017 very dry). Nice guide but we prefer hiking on our own. Even though it was organized, it was still worth it.

Thank you for your review dvgdvl, we are happy that you enjoyed the Parco della Maremma. In autumn, winter and spring the park can be visited without a guide obligation, while in summer the guide is compulsory as it is active in the discipline against fires, imposed by the Tuscan Region. Come back to see us!

Excellent bike trails to views, beaches and wildlife
Apr 2018 • Couples
We rented mountain bikes at Alberese and went on the 25 km loop - highly recommended! It provided great variety and a surprise around every corner - some mild climbs through olive groves to panoramic towers and views, then a beautiful sand beach to relax in the sun, a service center with much appreciated refreshments and restrooms, then a spectacular ride on berms and raised boardwalks along the seashore. One boardwalk ended in a cool "wildlife blind" structure where you can observe animals. Indeed there was a solitary Maremma ox that we could spy upon. On the way back, we saw a fox on the side of the bike path. Beautiful bike paths all the way!
