Given the option, we would rate this experience higher than Five. The setting, the experience, the birds, and the people were wonderful, better than anticipated, and we anticipated much after seeing the online photos and videos. We're very grateful to our new best friends, Colin and Yvonne, and of course the stars of the show, Lima and Dingle. If your... More

This was the highlight of our trip to northern Ireland. Danielle was a wonderful guide and so informative. You could tell she loved the birds and she has a good relationship with them. Danielle has been at the school for two years and knew all the birds personalities very well. Our hawk Beckett was great fun to be with. This... More

This was soooo much fun and extremely interesting. The time flew by as my wife launched and retrieved a Harris Hawk named Ispini and our guide Danielle took us from wary to delight. This is a lifetime memory and well worth the cost of €90 for a generous hour. The Ashford Castle grounds were also a treat but the main... More

Wow, what an activity! We went on a hawk walk with Danielle and her fabulous Harris Hawks, Aztec and Maya. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and the birds are very light and well behaved. It's marvelous to release them in the forest, where they swoop and then fly back to your gloved hand. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had an awesome visit. Denis was our guide and he was knowledgeable, upbeat, funny, and clearly has a deep respect for the birds. We did the extended walk which was the correct decision and we both took a hawk which added to the awesomeness of the walk as both hawks were in the air together, really... More

Our guide, Meghan immediately endeared us with her passion and love of the Harris Hawks in this amazing school. We were indifferent on the falconry adventure until we heard Ashford Castle guests rave about their experience. My partner was a little afraid and he had a grand time. Meghan shared with us intimate details about every bird, their training, characteristics... More

Our first visit to the School of Falconry on the beautiful Grounds of Ashford Castle. Having never done anything like this before, this was a fantastic experience and our guide Denis, gave a great explanation of how to handle a Harris Hawk (Cara) while we took it for a walk (and feed it) in the woods. As a special treat... More

A Harris hawk becomes yours in minutes….. After being introduced to the school’s process on weighing the birds and keeping a tally of their food intake you then met your hawk. It is an amazing occurrence to have the hawk on your arm and then you are off heading to the forest to witness your bird in action. Through twisted... More

Our family of 5 got to experience the Hawk Walk at Ireland's School of Falconry on the grounds of Ashford Castle. None of us had ever done falconry before so our instructor/guide Collins was very thorough, patient, and kind to us. We got adjusted to handling the Harris hawks in their enclosed home base before we went walking the grounds... More

This was an activity that we did while at The Ashford Castle. It is a separate business from Ashford. The experience was fantastic. Daniel was our guide and she was outstanding. We learned about how the birds hunt and communicate. With a quick lesson we were comfortable calling the falcons to our Arms while hiking through The beautiful woods.
