This was an excellent tour on Lough Corrib, with a very knowledgeable and entertaining captain providing the commentary. We visited Inchagoill island during the tour which was an interesting place. Safety was a priority for the friendly staff and we were very impressed that they asked all passengers to wear masks due to Covid19, providing disposable ones for the few people who didn't have their own. A great value and enjoyable afternoon.

The cruise is an interesting one. The captain is full of knowledge and information about the history of the castle and the area. The cruise on the lake is approx 1 hour duration and is well worth the effort to go on.

We highly recommend you book this cruise on Lough Corrib. We learned it is the second largest lake in Ireland after Lough Neagh.
The Cruise is led by a very competent captain who doubles up as a superb Tour Guide. He will effortlessly guide you through the history of the lake and it’s many islands. The historical perspective will be of particular interest to those from the US and Canada, but also those of us who have strong family connections with North America and Great Britain. The cruiser offers beverages hot and cold as well as snacks.
It is the Captain who makes this a memorable and wonderful trip.
Highly recommended.

Firstly, the cruise costs only 30 euro's per person and we thought it great value. David, the Captain and tour leader gave us a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable day. The lake is beautiful with it's views of the surrounding Connemara mountains as well as the small islets. The stop at Inchagoil Island was fascinating too with it's ancient remains and beautiful butterflies. David clearly loves the lake and it's islands and shares his extensive knowledge of the area in a fun and entertaining way.
One tip, the Ashford castle gardens don't have a public toilet but there is a free one by the nearby tea room.

We did the 2 hour cruise (actually ended up as a 2.5 hour) from Ashford Castle, near Cong, out on Lough Corrib to Inchagoill Island and back. Although the website warns about an additional charge for entering the grounds of Ashford Castel (which is a 5 star hotel set in acres of land) we were able to enter and park for free.

The boat trip was excellent with an onboard commentary from the captain who also led the tour of Inchagoill island. The island itself is fascinating. It is no longer inhabited but you can still see the ruins of the old churches and houses and the narrow lanes in between. It was once quite an important religious site.

The boat is clean and comfortable and sells drinks and snacks on board. A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

It was a perfect day for boating and exploring the island. Patrick was an excellent guide with good comedic timing and broad knowledge. I asked about another island we’d seen from the further north on the lake and he had a delightful story of Pirate Queen, Graine who caused so much trouble the Queen of England had to call her to court to negotiate. Don’t forget your seabands if you get sea sick! They were a Life saver.

I don't often write reviews, however, this trip deserves a 5* mention. From initial contact, right through to getting off the boat, the experience was exceptional. While we had lovely weather on the day, which obviously added to the already amazing scenery, the most enjoyable part was simply down to the skipper and his crew. The warm Irish welcome, light hearted yet informative commentary and overall service are a credit to Irish tourism Industry. It was an absolute pleasure to be on-board and was a highlight of our 4 day trip to this region. Well done Corrib Cruises.

I couldn't recommend more highly this six hour guided tour of Lough Corrib. David seems to know everything there is to know about the lake - and everything in it, on it and the culture and history of the people around it. The island of Inchagoill is a magical place with a fascinating history. A lot of work has been done in the grounds of Ashford Castle since we were there last, so it was great to be able to see this as it is included with the ticket.

The weather on the day was quite windy so we had a concern about that as we are not great on boats at the best of times. I could see that David took particular care to make it as smooth as possible.

Did this tour with my family on 05/ Sept/ 2021, what a great way to spend a few hours, the boat is safe and large and clean. We toured Logh Corrib and out to a very special island of Inchagoill. Amazing calm spirtual place.

Thanks to Patrick Luskin and his lovely wife for taking care of our family of 9 who sailed with him, great commentary on the lake, the hotel, the island and this history of the location.
