About
Athos Sea Cruises - Mount Athos cruise Ship departs once up to twice a day from Ouranoupolis port, right next to the "gates" of Holy Mount Athos. The ship heads to the southwestern part of Mount Athos peninsula. In 15 minutes reach the first Russian cloister and after sailing by unique beaches, it arrives in the area of the first monastery, Iera Moni Dochiariou and follows other 7 monasteries, as well as the Holy Mount's central port, Daphni, and finally the cloisters, small villages, where groups of monks live in every house. During the cruise visitors have the chance to admire the untouched nature and the unique architecture of Mount Athos monasteries. There is an audio guide tour in different languages (Greek, English, Russian, Serbian, Polish, Bulgarian and German). In these beautiful calm turquoise waters you will see very often dolphins to follow the ship. There is a restaurant, a bar and a small exhibition of souvenirs in the ship. There is also the possibility after agreement of pilgrimage of holy remnants during the cruise.

This company met my expectations, and delivered a nice sightseeing crusie to Mt Athos, with audio commentary in multiple lanugages. The toilets were clean, and there was running water and soap. The company advertise that they are well equipped to deal with accidents and breakdowns if needed en route.
I would suggest that the onboard crew could be more active in enforcing the social distancing on board. Some of the seats had "do not use" so as to stop too many people from sitting close together. Sadly some guests chose to ignore this.
Secondly although the cruise was advertised as 3 hours, it seemed to slow down on the return leg and we were approximately 30 minutes late, and had to rush to our next event.

I was unable to enter Mount Athos due to COVID limitations in July and booked this cruise instead. I was able to get closer to the beautiful landscape, see dolphins, and go for a swim on Donkey Island. It was a great alternative for my original plans, and I would be happy to visit again!

We took a trip to Mount Athos with Captain Fortis. The moment you enter the boat there is a guy who basically insists to take your photo. To our big surprise he then comes up on the deck and makes you pay a sum of money (we had to pay 30 euros) in exchange of 2 or 3 printed photos!
I felt robbed, not due to the amount, but by the gesture!

Dear,
We are very sorry about the bad experience you had on the boat, photos are optional, you can refuse to capture a picture of you and also you can refuse to buy them or ask them to destroy the picture if you changed your mind. The photographer informed us his price list is like not more than 4eur per picture. We will appreciate if your review include the experience of the cruise also.
Thank you very much
Enjoy your summer

Since the Holy Mountain [which includes Mount Athos (2033 m), a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988] is a theocratic state, where 1,472 monks live in 23 monasteries, is forbidden, since 1060, to women (sic) and lay people, the only possibility to approach it (only the southern slope of the peninsula) remains the boat, Check-out (10:30 or 14:00) from Ouranopoli (€22 / person). A speaker broadcasts a commentary in Greek, English, German, Bulgarian and Romanian (too bad for French speakers!). Every Sunday, 3 monks from the Xenofondos monastery board the ship to sell their products (wines, icons, rings, bracelets, honey). The cruise lasts 3h45 (return at 14h15 to Ouranopoli).

Avoid this cruise at all cost, the cruise is extremely overpriced and quite frankly boring as hell! Myself and my partner actually slept through parts of cruise as it was unbearable. There is little entertainment aside from the multiple monasteries pointed out at various times. We were promised swimming in the ocean and the boat only stopped for approximately 1:20 minutes, not enough time to get a decent meal and stretch your legs before returning to the boring boat. The pirate ship has absolutely no relevance to the cruise and the decor is cheap and tacky.
Absolutely avoid we paid £110 euros and I wish I’d have stayed in the hotel.

Dear,
We are very sorry for your trouble, we have to inform you that we do not own any pirate ship and we do not have such prices like 110€, our price list is 32€ per passenger please check our official website www.athos-cruises.gr.
Please delete your review and rewrite it to the pirate’s boat TripAdvisor profile, you can search it by its pirate boat name. I’m sorry I can’t write the name of the pirate boat to make it easier for you, it is cause of GDPR.
Thank you very much

If my teen boys loved this trip, then it surely does tick all the boxes. Dolphins swimming next to you, learning about Mount Athos, wonderful team ready to help. One of the crew gave water to a little dog of one of the people on the boat! You rarely see people with such empathy! One not to be missed! Thank you so much!

We booked this daily cruise looking for some good looking pictures of Meteora .
We had a wonderful time , the crew was lovely and very caring and the space onboard even though it doesn't look so spacious, was comfortable enough
Really value for money ! A great experience i would definitely do it again.
The owner Fotis who took some time to introduce himself to us , is a very friendly and professional man.

We took the Mount Athos / Ammouliani & Banana Beach tour. Well-organized, not too crowded on the boat & friendly staff. I thought the snap with the Captain on embarking was sweet & an unexpected souvenir (not too expensive either). Facilities on the boat were acceptable. Banana beach was beautiful but a little crowded & we would have loved a bit more time there. There was a vegetarian option - falafel wrap - at the beach bar (we were happy to pay extra for that). Perhaps make food requirements (halal, vegetarian) available to request when booking. All in all a great day out!

We joined the blue lagoon cruise, departing from Sithonia. Nice, relaxing trip, we enjoyed it. Banana beach is the must destination, an almost private beach. Tasty and very well organized BBQ on the beach. The local market place of Ammouliani island was interesting and the last destination where the boat stopped at the open sea and we jumped in the sea from the boat was fantastic. All COVID-19 regulations like social distances, masks and frequent disinfections was seemed to be observed. Finally, about the personnel was there at any time to help.

Hello, what days the ship departs on mount Athos. We would be interested to see the monks bring the shrines and touch them. How much is a ticket for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years?

Скажите, как попасть именно на паломнический круиз, чтобы на борт судна монахи привезли Святыни Афона - пояс Пресвятой Богородицы, стопу Святой Анны и т.д.?
