Small village, old with some streets, shops, tiny stone houses... Classic Greece! I don't understand what is the big fuzz about this village/ town, has nothing wow. Yes, it is beautiful, the streets are nice, the little houses also, but you can find all of these all over the Greece, so is not an unique place.

The village has a centre/ agora that is closed for cars, but it is small and the rest of the streets are packed with cars, so many cars, parked everywhere, there are no rules, no signs, you can live your car wherever you want. On the Varies Beach, you can park the car almost on the beach, in a place that is a muddy lot.

Also, full of people, I mean FULL, hardly can walk on the streets. And the prices... ooooffff.

We have been coming to Afitos for 19 years and I never get bored of it. We stay in kalithea nearby and we love to visit Afitos.
A lovely authentic Greek village unspolit. Cobbled streets, church, central square, bars ,cafes and restaurants. Not tacky at all. We love it. You will always have good eating experiences in Afitos. Sit in the square at night with a drink by the church and watch the world go by. We love it

Extremely lively place, full of people even late at night. There are many small souvenir shops around as well as many bars and restaurants. There is also an interesting historical church.

We were tipped off about the Halkidiki region in northern Greece by associates in Bulgaria. We visited in Sept 2019 just when the weather was beginning to turn but still nice. We choose Afytos because it was described as quaint and tradtional greek village with a lot stone and neat shops, restaurants and tavernas. We were not disappointed. Lovely and amazing place. Great nightlife (not wild, but fun for couples or families with preteens or older) and restaurants top notch authentic. Highly recommended from May through Sept. I believe it mostly shuts down except for local residents in October.

Lovely square in the middle of town, few benches where you can watch the world go by and bars and restaurants lining the square.

Pretty village with its cobbled streets. Plenty of shops and bars and three small supermarkets. Everyone in shops and bars very friendly and spoke fairly good English.

We visited this lovely little village out of season, so not a lot was open, but on the positive side it was lovely and quiet and I can imagine in peak season it get's very.
busy.

In the center of the village there area a number of cafe's, lovely to people watch. The church is in the center and there looks to be a few nice shops.

We didn't walk down to the beach but we took the road to the left of the Church and went to see the beautiful view. There are some lovely little cafe's along here also and you can easily wile away a couple of hours.

Overall we enjoyed our visit and it is well worth a trip out if in close proximity.
