Pretty village with its cobbled streets. Plenty of shops and bars and three small supermarkets. Everyone in shops and bars very friendly and spoke fairly good English.

We visited this lovely little village out of season, so not a lot was open, but on the positive side it was lovely and quiet and I can imagine in peak season it get's very. busy. In the center of the village there area a number of cafe's, lovely to people watch. The church is in the center and there looks to be a few nice shops. We didn't walk down to the beach but we took the road to the left of the Church and went to see the beautiful view. There are some lovely little cafe's along here also and you can easily wile away a couple of hours. Overall we enjoyed our visit and it is well worth a trip out if in close proximity.

We were tipped off about the Halkidiki region in northern Greece by associates in Bulgaria. We visited in Sept 2019 just when the weather was beginning to turn but still nice. We choose Afytos because it was described as quaint and tradtional greek village with a lot stone and neat shops, restaurants and tavernas. We were not disappointed. Lovely and amazing place. Great nightlife (not wild, but fun for couples or families with preteens or older) and restaurants top notch authentic. Highly recommended from May through Sept. I believe it mostly shuts down except for local residents in October.
